I just love the fact that no one wants Kyrie and that Ben Simmons is of the same thought process, the idea of Brooklyn picks being incredibly high is amazing, I initially thought they were worthless and thought maybe we get a couple of mid firsts and maybe one player that actually sticks, but given the age and where James, Kyrie, and KD were before becoming a big 3 in Brooklyn just wow lol.

It’s funny how things change so quickly. Some people were certain the Nets were on their way to several seasons contending for titles. Now a year and a half after their franchise-changing Harden trade, he’s gone, they’re scrambling to find solid ground, their roster is in flux, and the only certainty about their future is that the Rockets control their draft picks through 2027.

Now imagine them saddled with Simmons' contract. Kyrie gone and Durant gone and no other stars coming there. Losing the salary of Kyrie and Durant doesn't get them max availability and that will be replaced with some other dog ****. With those swaps and their picks they will have nothing to replace the talent pool. If Durant is not healthy next year they may be a lottery team and I would say with Harden gone the chances are actually higher that occurs and almost happened this year with a team with 3 potential HOFs on it in their prime. Regardless that team has a horrible D problem. A Rockets fans should know.

Who would hurt the Nets more, Irving or Westbrook?

All we need to know is that he can take over a game anytime he wants.

    Westbrook.

I think for Brooklyn not signing Kyrie would be a mistake. There is no one that would even come close to replacing even a part time Kyrie. He likely will play games with no mandate, but with his regular injuries I think he plays 63 games max regular season and plays the playoffs. If Kyrie plays from the beginning of the season KD can get some rest, they maybe build a cushion going into playoffs and get some days off. KD and Kyrie in the playoffs and a healthy supporting cast I think they are still competitive. Joe Harris and Seth Curry are really good shooters to have, Ben Simmons wouldn't even need to play for them to be competitive if they are healthy. They all got injured this year, I think with a roster like this you just keep seeing if everyone can stay healthy next year. As we saw with Harden, it is not like you can just place yourself in a seemingly better situation and instantly win. Seems way too short sighted to just bail on this. You have to sign him so that if it doesnt work then you trade him and get someone into the cap space. Why would they let him walk and ruin their ability to put someone of equal salary into his spot? It makes little sense, unless someone is willing to just pay Kyrie without incentives and Brooklyn just doesnt want to do it. Without their picks they should take the risk on signing him.

yeah, because that’s all that’s important for a rebuilding team…

Kyrie is so amazing yet people think he could be had for John Wall…the delusion never ceases to amaze me

Nets can’t afford to let Kyrie go…he’s KD’s BFF, and they can’t replace him

all this nonsense like “Kyrie for John Wall” is so delusional

I mean, nothing else ever really made much sense. They gain little cap space by letting him walk, he likely doesn't have much trade value, and KD may demand a trade if they don't re-sign him.

No cap space. Their only option is a trade if they don't want to bring him back. And a team has to be pretty desperate to gamble on this guy at this point. There is no way you're getting a player of his caliber back for him.

Yeah, the only real option they have if they don't re-sign Kyrie is to trade him for other players. But what team out there is going to give you anything close to equal value for one year of Kyrie? For Brooklyn to seriously contend, they need a second star next to Durant, and if they couldn't trade for one with Kyrie or Simmons, then those are the guys they're stuck with. Their best bet is to double down on those three guys, make use of the MLE and veteran minimum deals to add key role players and pray those three can stay remotely healthy (and sane) for a full season. I don't like their odds, but that's the hand they've been dealt.

Nets would get rid of Steve Nash who does nothing but clap and project good vibes if they’re serious, but Kyrie and KD don’t want a coach, and Ben Simmons is mentally weak so he probably needs a player friendly and positive “coach” like Nash

I swear, sometimes it seems like the only thing a big-name sportswriter looks at to invent a trade rumor is whether the salaries match. If that.

Where do you see that Kyrie and KD don't want a coach?

When Kyrie said his infamous quote before the start of last year and when they got Kenny Atkinson out of there ASAP because he wasn’t a player friendly pushover.

Do you contribute positivity to this board? Do you contribute to anything uplifting or good? Or do you sit there on this board everyday condescendingly judge other posters especially when you are too dumb to read and comprehend what was actually written. You are sad. Constantly judging and feigning intelligence linking up with your mean girl clique on this site. As if you have supreme knowledge. Classic case of a guy who wants to be heard. Over 38,000 posts since 2012. Thats impressive how much time you have wasted.

Have you even touched a basketball in your life? Played organized basketball at any level? Tell me. Is this your outlet to vicariously live through players or management or coaching? Or do you work For the Rockets organization since you talk a big game? Or are you like most on here who Aren’t coaches, execs, or players. Im willing to bet you can’t even play the game well in real life. You really love to talk without much comprehension or patience especially when I stated clearly that it’s just my opinion based on logic, exploring scenarios, and available reporting. You are a damn child. I am sure im not the first to tell you this. Do you bud.
