True. But Jefferson is overpaid for his efficiency or rather, lack of efficiency. He takes a lot of shots but does not yield outstanding results, and a good chunk of the offense he gives you comes off offensive rebound putbacks. That is a garbage man. Sure he can hit the jumper out to about 15 feet. Worst shot in basketball at less than 50%. If he could hit it at 55% plus, that's another thing. On top of that, he doesn't draw fouls and get to the line enough. And Memphis is b-r-o-k-e, broke. They're gonna take on all his millions for what?? It makes ZERO sense. He's not Kobe or Lebron. He's not gonna put butts in the seats. He's not gonna win them games. He's not he's not he's not.

Don't be surprised if Minny has to simply unload him for junk, an expiring contract plus a smaller bad contract. That is all he is worth right now.

Now if he comes with the rights to Rubio, now we're talking about a possible deal..for a team that can afford him overpayment and can afford the wait for Rubio. Is he a decent skilled big? Why yes. But he's not a top 5 player, not a top 10 player, probably not even a top 10 big man (4/5) in the NBA.

    Gasol
    Yao
    Howard
    Amare
    Bosh
    Boozer
    Lopez
    Dirk
    Duncan
    Horford

He may barely be a top 10 big (4/5), barely. Personally, I think everyone on this list is better than him right now. And no, I didn't list Garnett, Lamarcus Aldridge, Paul Millsap, Lamar Odom, or many others.

you do not want a rookie in your starting lineup if you plan on being a contender...unless his name is Akeem Olajuwon. This also kills our depth which would have been ridiculous if we snagged someone solid at 14th this year. Jefferson also isn't a huge upgrade over scola, he's not an exceptional athlete and his numbers won't be as high alongside Yao and Brooks.

So it looks like trading Garnett for Jefferson was an abject failure then?

Jefferson may actually be a worse defender than Luis. At least Luis will pick up some charging calls every now and again.

...it just dawned on me that the Lakers could offer Bynum for Jefferson. Bynum has been inconsistent at best - Lakers should have traded him long ago similar to Kahn with Big Al. Seems like a decent relocation for both players.

The trade wasn't the failure in this situation.

The Minnesota Front Office -- Leadership has been the source of failure over the years.

Zach has had his troubles, but I'm a fan. He's 20-10 automatically every night.
