I'll tell you what is really dumb. That is Memphis taking on a load of salary for a big man that is going to take minutes from Marc Gasol.

That trades makes ZERO sense for Memphis.

Or they could play Jefferson at PF, where he started his career, so they can play next to eachother...

    Deal deal

    chadfordinsider:

Jefferson for Randolph talks appear dead. Memphis is unwilling to part with their picks as part of a deal. Minn thinks they can do better

They're both low block players. No spacing. Al is not efficient. He doesn't shoot enough free throws. It does not make sense. Especially a team struggling to keep the lights on taking on salary.

Has morey ever specifically said why the team would not be interested in Jefferson? I'm not asking in general, just want to know if Morey ever addressed Jefferson.

I doubt he has ever mentioned trading for Jefferson in public. (tampering)

Also if you go by efficiency Al J hasn't performed that well. Not only was he injured the last few years, he was also being played at C, where his defensive weakness kept getting exposed.

IMHO Kahn waited too long to trade him. Should have traded big al to the thunder last year for the 3rd pick.

Jefferson can hit the jumpshot as well. You don't always have to have a 3 pt shooting pf next to your low post c. As long one player has a semblance of an outside shot they can work together already. You talk like one player needs the entire low post area to himself in order score lol. They can both occupy different sides of the low post you know.

You DO realize they also have OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay on that team, right? Those two need to take shots to be efficient...

Big Al may never be the same because of the injury.

Al Jefferson for Kevin Martin works. They need to give up more than that.

K-Mart, Hill, and the #14 pick for Jefferson, the 4th, 16th, and 23rd pick.

Trade all those picks for the 2nd pick and draft Turner.

    Yao / Hayes / Andersen
    Jefferson / Scola / Jeffries
    Ariza / Battier
    Turner / Budinger / Taylor
    Brooks / Lowry

Jeff is a legit center who can help reduce Yao's minutes.

Are you serious Al Jefferson has 20+ points and 20+ rebounds every time he plays the rockets.
Jefferson would fit perfectly at the power forward spot
we would then have a twin towers with yao and Al.
Rockets then can easily compete with the lakers

i think the problem with pairing jefferson with yao would be the speed / athleticism of the front court. however, he can't be any less athletic that scola.

also, if they are trading jefferson they will not want to trade the 4th pick too. the pick will be used to replace him with a guy like favors or cousins.
