This is exactly right. Take him and pray. We're pretty much forced into him being the pick, given the state of the franchise, IMO.

Yes Bradford has a small frame which is why he is oft injured. I could care less about 40 times when both QB's are dropback QB's. Teddy has 124 yards rushing on 216 attempts in college so he must really be using that 4.5 40 speed judiciously.

and Bridgewater never played for a BCS title, but keeping watching 1 play and trying to extrapolate that for an entire career.

bradford is one of the bigger qb's in the league.

yes, both qb's are drop back passers, just like every other qb in the nfl.

while both have cannons, the main difference between the two is one wears cement shoes, and the other is fleet of foot. i'm going to leave it to you to decipher who is who. let me know if you need some help.

why do team accomplishments matter, also how much does competition factor into it. weve seen plenty of big college qbs bust. if youre a bridgewater naysayer todays game was pretty much a lose-lose, if he would have won by 8 TDs people would have talked about the comp, he put the team on his back and led them to victory but people still talk about the comp. .all i know is i saw bridewaters defense try their best to lose that game against cincys qb/punter who was limping around with all day in the pocket. teddy responded twice to his d failing and that 4th down conversion was just a man making a play. as ive said i hope the FO makes the right decision, i will live with the choice they make. im not going to let some message board gm sway me to like one guy over the other. i am very intrigued by clowney as well..

This board just had to keep yapping about his frame. Now all I can do is gawk at his girly legs. He's going to get snapped like a twig! :(

With the number one pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select Anthony Barr.

    ;)

When did Louisville become an NCAA power house and be expected to dominate. They have one great player in Teddy and that's really it.

He excelled against an SEC team when he had the chance. He's got power behind that arm and can make nice throws and can move inside the pocket. Bring him in and let Case carry his bags, if he is as fragile as some think well here comes UofH favorite star Case to the rescue.

I feel the Texans fanbase in general don't have a clue about what it means to have a franchise QB. I still remember how in 2011 offseason majority of the fans were thinking we really shouldn't be bothering with looking at Peyton. Or those that just last offseason won't trade Watt for Luck in a hypothetical trade value thread.

This is what happens when Houston hasn't had a franchise caliber QB in 20 years.

If we decide Bridgewater is not our guy, we NEED to trade down, even if it's to #3 I don't care. There are more things to improve on this team than just QB.

Not sure why the 4.5 speed gets brought up with Bridgewater. He's not a scrambler and wont be in the NFL. Speed doesn't equate to pocket presence or mobility in the pocket (which Bridgewater has).

He's a 4.5 guy but you wont see him run. Tannehill is as fast as Wilson but you'd never think of him as a scrambler (because he's white and the media never brings up his speed). That's what will happen to Bridgewater in the pros - he wont run. I'm sure they'll bring up his speed though, since he's black.

I don't want a running QB but I would love a QB that can run when the middle of the field opens up for 20 yards.

What Schaub did last night? I want that play in the arsenal every snap.

His legs look like mine...trust me, do not want.

I just ask someone to listen to Seth Payne on the radio today...at some point, he will mention Bridewater's frame and that he cant possibly see Teddy being a franchise QB because of this...Ive been hearing it for the last 5 weeks and I cant help but believe it now.

Dammit, I wish Mariota was entering. :(

If the Texans end up with the first pick, Clowney is by far the best player available. He's a dominant pass rusher that would be sick paired up with Watt.

The Texans, however, don't have a choice. You don't go anywhere in this league without a franchise quarterback, and it's becoming more and more apparent that Case isn't the answer. This is our one chance to grab a potential franchise QB in the draft, and we better take Bridgewater.

Next season we'll prob have a much better record with a new coaching staff, and that would cause us to fall out of the range for taking top-tier quarterbacks.

It's time to secure our future. Pass rushers can be found later.

The beauty of all this is that the Texans WILL screw it up and whoever they don't pick (Clowney or Bridgewater) will ream our ass for 10 years in Jacksonville.

It's great being a fan of one of the worst run organizations in the leauge isn't it?
