Trading him is not an option because he will opt out of his contract after this season and he will become a free agent. If he does not want to play the rest of the season what makes u think that he's going to play another season with the rockets

Thats it... They had the chance to trade him... before the deadline now he is of no value for the team.

    Kiss goodbye Bonzi

Best case scenario now is we go onto win it all - well, duh! - and Gawan is left on the outside looking in.

the whole things reeks of a sulky little whinger who couldnt hack it when things didnt go his way and he wasnt treated like the "star recruit".

he never realised he had to earn it, well, actually no doubt he did realise that but wasnt up to it.

we go from here. 4 games left.

Say hello to Kirk Snyder, want to see him motivated against his old team.

    Beat the Jazz!!

Maggette would have been huge... Not the ideal piece we need. But huge.

Why would JVG not play him for 8-9 games and then bring him into the game against his former team, does not make sense...

I was pumped when we signed him. I really thought that he would put us over the top. But in the back of my mind, I kind of knew this would happen eventually.

Can you imagine if we had last year's version of Bonzi coming off the bench as our 6th man? Damn, what could have been...

Yeah, this is the frustrating thing about career-ending brain disorders. They're a lot harder to spot than an injury. Griffin's was expensive. Wells, not so much.

I'm a card-carrying critic of Mike James' attitude, but when you see a case like Bonzi's, it puts the relative merits of a mere jerk like James in perspective.

This team needs a jerk to help with it's passive attitude, what it doesn't need is a case of constant brain farting !

The problem with Bonzi is that everyone thought he'd do the smart, reasonable thing. This was his contract year and performing well would net him a full MLE with a contender, perhaps even the Rockets. A lot more than the $2 mil he has now. If anything, he'd quit on the team NEXT year, with a fat contract in hand.

It seems like Bonzi just doesn't care anymore. So much so that he's even willing to forgo millions of dollars just to be lazy. Well, it's his choice, but I hope he's been frugal with his money, since he's not going to be making much more for the rest of his life.

I agree completely. We have too many nice, passive players. We need someone to fire us up (like Sura)

Bonzi is just a fat, lazy player. He's as bad as Derek Anderson from last season.

I can't wait until we sign Zach Randolph next season and believe we'll change him.

Highly unlikely. I'd be very surprise to see him in a Rocket's uniform next year.

He was far from smart when he passed up that $38mill contract. CD and the Rockets should've known right then and there that this guy was not going to work out. Most of us (including myself) gave him the benefit of the doubt.
