To me, it's not even much of a question that he was depressed. He talked about showing up to games, and then wondering why he did. He basically turned the whole all-star weekend into a tmac pity party (and still couldn't get the call at the end). I'm not buying the stress exacerbating the back injury thing. If anything, the back injury (along with the death in the family) was the source of his other problems. In the few games he played, he was simply in a funk. Just did not seem to be himself.
Yes. Yao need some wax to make his hair stand up in the air. He also need some serious make-up to make his skin look whiter, softer, and tender. He better wear a pair of tight jean. Now he is all geared to dance in the lady's club in downtown Houston.
that was pretty cool... so whens the rest of the interview gonna air? i know they didn't sit them down together for just that.
I was thinking the same thing. When Yao was talking I decided to look at the progress bar to see how long the video was going to be and it was already halfway to the end. I was disappointed
Was the interview done yesterday after the Open-To-Media team practice at Toyota Centre ?? Please Click Here for More Photos of Rockets Team Practice
I agree with that interview being wayyyy too short. Yao is picking up English pretty damn fast.. makes me question if he actually needed that translater 3 seasons ago to begin with.. I can see him losing that accent in about 2-3 seasons.
I'm not saying that he was lying about the stress affecting his back or this depression for that matter (which is something personally I think is speculation based on hearsay and lacking any concrete evidence whatsoever). I'm just pointing out that whether or not these pressures are affecting him physically he has to be able to play and perform through the pain and that's what makes the great ones great. All the great ones have been tested to the limit both physically and emotionally and this is tmac's test. Will his career parallel penny hardaway and grant hill's or will he bounce back like Dwade after a missed finals appearance due to injury and win a title? I am praying that it will be the latter.
I will have to disagree there Stress may be the root of alot of injuries, although IIRC it has not been justified by any concrete evidence. But just from personal experience, during a relatively stressful period, thats when I get sick for all sorts of reasons
I like Yao, such a smart guy. But his confidence on and out of court is still far from Shaq's level, he never used big chanllenging words, fans do not like those diplomatic talks.
