I think its like Stephen Jackson, he is in St. Louis, and he cant win by himself, but imagine him, in contender teams, he would be the best RB, it would be awesome having him on the Texans (I can dream right), or in the Patriots, Colts, steelers, and teams like that, but I dont remember hearing about him wanting to leave the Rams.

but Andre Johnson, has a chance of getting to the playoffs with the texans, but I agree, if this season and the next, cant have any success, he would be looking for deals with other teams.

If we don't make the playoffs this year AJ deserves a contending team.

AJ could almost be a Hall of Famer if he retired tomarrow...We need to help him stay here!

I'm sorry, is Andre Johnson playing for free all of a sudden? Did Rick Smith hold a gun to his head to sign his contract? I love him and, sure, it would be nice for him to get the national attention he deserves by playing for a Super Bowl contender, but there is a time for negotiation and there is a time to just shut up. Make this team a winner, Andre. Win on Monday.

I retract anything negative I said about him. The speculation at this point in the year seems completely insane to me, though.

I wonder if he has the same Uncle/Advisor that Michael Crabtree has.

Personally, Dre deserves to win, and I hope its here with the Texans. Nevertheless, I dont think that I would be thrilled if my Uncle came out and said some BS like that to ESPN. Dre is the strong, silent type. Typically when he speaks, people listen because it will be important, and so far he hasnt said a word about this "Turn the Corner" crap. I will start listening/believing it when it starts coming from him, not Uncle Bubba.

As long as he is under a contract he signed, he should stay and play in Houston.

I don't buy the ...trade him to a contender stuff....make your team a contender.

I would understand if he left too and will always be a fan of him. Plus he's a Rockets fan (or at least i've seen him at Rockets games)

You're right. He should go iron man. Can he play defensive tackle? Maybe he can somehow double as the starting tight end as well.

Folk have been saying this about AJ for a while but the fact is, the Texans have improved a great deal in recent years. Unless they fired Kubiak, hired a loser, lost Schaub, gambled once again on a first round rookie QB, lost Daniels and Ryans, I doubt the situation would be the sort that AJ would think he'd have to force a trade because the team has no success.

Dre was raised by his uncle. It's not just some distant relative coming out of the woodworks. If I'm not mistaken, his uncle is his agent too...but that may have changed since a few years ago.

we`ll turn things around, we`re not too far behind the patriot and the colts, we need better secondary and a running game, but things are looking good at certain areas of the team.

It was still out of line to say, regardless of who it was. Especially coming from a man who is a self-proclaimed agent just because AJ didnt get along with the 3 agents he had prior to naming his Uncle as his advisor and hiring a "No-Name Agent" to sign the paperwork.

This is Week 11 of the 2009 season, this isnt the off-season. We dont need to hear BS threats about "Plans in place" to get him out of here. If he doesnt have faith in this organization then so be it, but dont say crap like that mid-season. All that does is show his lack of Education in the Personal Relations field, no room for it during the midst of a playoff push.

Go play Agent in the Off-Season, leave the talking to the people who we actually give a damn about.

I disagree, he's been a great player on horrible teams. He's such a great guy that I honestly don't know how all this would go down.

He's such a professional that he wouldn't even come out and say something like this to the media, it takes someone else for this to come out.

AJ has 2 whole years left on his contract, that's a lot of time to wait to join another team, if nothing is done here he should be traded and get a chance at team success. Before its too late. :(

They don't call the NFL a Not For Long league for nothing. I, like many on here, would support a trade of Johnson if this team manages to choke down the season once again. He's been making this team a contender the best way he can: drawing double/triple coverage so that players like Daniels, Jones, and Walter get open; making the impossible catches possible; being a consummate professional since the texans drafted him, etc.

He can't help Slaton's fumbling issues; He can't fix Schaub's occasional brain farts; He can't fix the secondary; He can't heal Owen Daniels' knee.

The man's done all he can. At least by trading him we get something in return rather than just let him walk out and get nothing back in return.

I can't believe some of the posts in this thread. A lot of you all are acting like this is David Carr's Texans here. Our team has been improving every year. We SHOULD make the playoffs this year (looking at the schedule). We win on Monday Night, and we'll get a 10-6 or 11-5 record. This team has plenty of talent and has grown together from rookies on up. We have the youngest starting lineup in the league. Come on now...we're going to be pretty damn good.

I've had this in the back of my mind since two years ago. If he'd been playing with an elite team he could easily be one of the all time receivers. No Doubt about it. Losing takes a toll, players don't want to end up like Barry Sanders. In all honesty, I cant get mad at Dre. He is a class act and losing sucks. Maybe next year gets old after like 6 years. He has waited for this team to turn the corner, and I wont get mad at him at all if he starts to get vocal.
