[ESPN] Update on Vince Carter rumors (includes proposals)

HELLLLLLLLLLL no, we don't give up battier and artest when all we have is yao, tmac isn't healthy, is he even playing the rest of the season...slap the nj net's gm in the face for that one

Tmac for Vince. Throw in some Von to make it interesting for Jersey. Some head, whatever. Get tmac and his 20 million dollar contract outta here.

 

The article does NOT say that we would be giving up ALL of those players in a trade, but a "combination" of those players. If we gave up all of those guys for just Carter and Boone, we'd get totally hosed.

I can deal with putting Carl into the McGrady trade, or throwing in picks and cash (do we even have any picks left?) But the second trade, with McGrady being as inept as he is now, would spell disaster for both this season and our future. We would be DANGEROUSLY shallow at the three, and lose one of our most important future pieces (Landry) at the same time. If this is what needs to happen to get a trade done, why don't we just stand pat and wait until the value of McGrady's contract rises next year?

Last time I checked defense does win games indeed but basketball is a 5 on 5 game not one on one. Artest and Battier defense this year aren't the same as they use to be. Battier had a foot injury and may not be the same. Artest is most likely to walk. We get our guy in Carter with a back up center we need. Douglas-Roberts and Von Wafer are young and can grow up and become guys that can contain the likes of Kobe and so on. I laugh at comments when people say Battier and Ron are Kobe stoppers blah blah blah. You can never stop scorers like Kobe and LeBron and so on. You can only contain them. Douglas-Roberts was a great defender when he was at Memphis and Von Wafer can learn and grow up into being a great 2 way player.

Play hardball with Jersey. They arent going anywhere this year, maybe playoffs, but bounced in first round. The value of Tmacs contract next year would go up significantly because it was expiring. They would really have the upper hand.

I dont think they do it.

They don't want VC and McGrady's contract. the only way they do it is if they are pretty damn sure they can move McGrady before the trade deadline.

You may be right but I wanna say it is all 4 players. Speaking gramatically, it would of said "or" not "and" NJ is known for getting the better of deals, just look at the Dallas trade and what scrubs they gave up to aquire Carter.

 

this is almost as bad as the rumors that come out of the Chicago media.

If you can somehow convince them to take McGrady, great. But their counter-proposal is laughable.
