because for this season, even if we don't resign artest, with carter replacing a gimp t-mac we could win the championship.

 

coz tmac is pretty much done. see another thread that quotes a rox coach's opinion. imagine rox has tmac and vc. it is going to be a mess.

rofl...it's pretty clear NJ wants the moon for vince since a lot of teams are interested. looks like they are gonna be stuck with him if they want this kind of deal in return.

As a rule you try to avoid selling low and buying high, which seems to be precisely what the Rockets are doing here. Also, Tmac's contract will be absolute gold next year when there will be an abundance of talent floating around.

If we can pull of VC for Artest we would have two large expiring contracts serving as valuable trade bait in back to back years.

 

This is a VERY BAD trade for the Rockets. Tell NJ to P* Off!

 

Put them on hold and leave them there...

I like this part the best. At least we know Morey is doing the right thing.

As for the VC trade, the principal should be very simple. McGrady and Carter have to be the center pieces. There's no other ways around. I hope Morey stick to his guns. If it means no trade, so be it.

Rod Thorn is a very smart GM. He usually robs people when he trades. (check the NJ/TOR VC trade, Kidd/Harris trade, RJ/Yi trade). But I don't think he has much leverage here. Not too many teams are willing to take Carter's huge contract.

Spurs are out as soon as Duncan said no.
NJ owns Dallas' first round pick, I doubt they want to lower the value of that pick.
NJ will never do anything to improve the Cavaliers. Why? LeBron and 2010.
