I think I would give Artest, Battier and Head for VC now, knowing that T-Mac's out for the season. I think VC's scoring ability would be big, but I also like the idea of Wafer getting more time.

    Hello Vinsanity?

With T-Mac gone this team needs scoring from the backcourt and unfortunately Artest is not hte asnwer. Vince is one of the rare swingmen that make others around him better (ask Brook Lopez, ryan Anderson and his unselfish play that allowed Harris to become an all-star).

moreover, the Nets beat writers have stated taht the current trade looks like this:

Carter,Ryan Anderson and Najera for Landry, Battier, Artest and Head. Ryan Anderson puts up comparable numbers to Landry and is hardnosed while Najera is a hardnosed defender who can knock the triple a la Battier.

Let's throw in Yao for Yi as well, as the latter is Chinese a la the former.

If that trade went down, I would be extremely stoked! Not only does that look like a good trade, but the Rockets would now have a player that have the same exact name as I do!

the rockets need to find a way to keep battier in that carter trade. then all lights would be green for me. they still have a shot at the title.
landry artest head and a draft pick or something
    for carter and boone.

I've been a member of Clutchfans for quite some time and I've always enjoyed reading the threads here but have never felt the need to post... until now. This offer by the Nets is a horrendous trade for us. Let's take a look at what we're giving away here:

Artest: Ok either tmac or artest is going to be involved in any trade so this is to be expected.

Carl Landry: You knew that either landry/scola/brooks was going to be offered as a strong kicker with the main course in order to land a superstar type of player.

Shane Battier: Arguably first team all-defense every year. Now we are including BOTH our defensive stoppers who can hold down players like Kobe.

Luther Head: You knew he was going to be included in any deal but nevertheless he is worth $$.

To any individual with a sense of logic and equivalent exchange, I'm sure you can understand that this trade is not equivalent by any means. Vince Carter is no longer a superstar caliber player. He's a star, thats it. For Amare, I can understand giving up landry and maybe wafer but not battier. So hopefully the Rockets' upper brass can draw the same conclusion. We are getting Vince Carter with years left on his contract who plays the same position and style as T-Mac. Oh wait, weren't they on the same team before?

Look I understand the Rockets should try to make something happen here but not when it is a detriment to the team. Take a look at how well we perform without an injured McGrady on the court with just Yao, Artest and gang, especially vs the top seeds. This trade does not NEED to happen and therefore it shouldn't because we lose a lot more than we gain.

Another thing I find suspect is that TMac says hes done for the season right before the trade deadline. That's gonna really balance the trades in our favor... The only crafty move he's made all season.

of course we got the highest chance, because we practically gave them our team defense.

I say they get Artest, Hayes, Head, and pick, or Tmac. If Nets are looking for 2010, then getting rid of VC contract would help them more than enough.

I still only do McGrady for VC & filler. Landry, Battier & Scola stays.

If the Nets are willing to trade Vince Carter and filler for a banged up Tracy McGrady... then that would be the steal of the century.

It is all about income. If Nets are loosing money the sane thing to do is for them to dump Vince for Tracy. Rockets will get a third scorer and Nets an attractive expiring contract. Both team wins!

Why would the Nets trade VC for Mac now when they can wait till next year?

Again, I offer T-Mac and Head for Vince, Salmons and Najera. Although, I wouldn't mind sending them Battier as the principal piece in a deal for Vince.

Carter's game is regressing? What do you consider it compared to Tmac's?
