    I know it's delayed but...

Answer this trade is not gonna go down and do you really think the Clippers are that stupid???

They are not gonna trade their 'best player' for a bunch of scrubs.

Come on now let's be realistic here.

Since were keeping T-mac, Ron is probably gonna go...Im just saying since the Carter deal is not fair we should get Jamison. I want Ron to stay, but he is gonna bolt in the offseason, better to get someone back.

Him and everyone else on this board.

Some of these "ideas" aren't very logical for either teams, I say RJ or Caron Butler as I have been.

Move Shane for a more athletic SF.

With the announcement from Les it looks like all Tracy/Vince trades are dead but I'm still curious, why did everyone who like the trade like it so much?

    a. Vince Carter is the Man! With him wearing Rocket Red, a championship is sure to come!

    b. No More She-Mac! Sure Vince isn't the answer but ANYONE sure beats the heck out of Knee-Mac.

    c. Both A. and B.

    I'll start the voting: B.

Too much Vince and he is not young anymore. Vince is also not on the same laegue as TMac or even Ron.

Actually, they're all in the NBA.

On a serious note, Vince is better both Ron and Tracy (current).

Carter is all stats, he really doesn't impact the game they way he should be able to. I don't know what has gone on behind the scenes but I rather keep Artest.

I would not even give up either Artest or Battier for half man!

Throughout Carter's career he has had a good +/- related to the rest of his team. He's just never been that good on the bench during his career.

Hell no, we're giving up too much. If it was just 2 rotation players I say shoot, but 3 rotational players; Not worth it.

The rumored offer from the Nets would give us another $3 million in room under the luxury tax, which would allow us to pick up another player from another team making that much or less, in exchange for nominal consideration. Or perhaps the other team would even give us a draft pick to take a salary off their hands, like we did with Memphis to dump Francis' salary.

Shoot I would do that trade in a heart beat.

If New Jersey wants Ron Artest, Carl Landry, Luther Head and Shane Battier they need to send us Carter and Boone and Yi Jianlian.

Here's our salary cap situation in the summer of 2010 if this deal goes down:

    Yao - $17.686
    VC - $17.3
    Brooks - $2.016
Cap hit for 9 open roster spots at $473,604 each = $4.26 million
    Total committed: $41.262

With a project cap of $60 million, that leaves roughly $18 million to sign a stud free agent and/or Scola (plus an additional $473,604). So we could have a roster of Brooks, VC, Bosh, Yao, and a bunch of players making the minimum.

This is the deal I'd do:

Rockets get: VC, Dooling, and Boone

Nets get: Artest, Skip, Landry, and Head

Les is right for holding on to T-Mac, his contract is just way too valuable.

No TMac should be traded and this trade will work:

Rip Hamilton, Prince for TMac and Luther Head.

Rockets blow out the Nets without T-Mac.
Vince leads the Nets with 30 points.

So why do we want to trade away guys like Artest and Battier who help us blow out teams? Why keep the injured guy instead? Obviously i know why NJ would be reluctant to pull the trigger, but why would we?

    Vince's salary?

If Boston was so stingy about salaries, they wouldn't have made the trades they did last offseason.

Whatever. I'm obviously an idiot and don't know what I'm talking about.
