    from wikipedia:

    Winner's Curse

The winner's curse is a phenomenon akin to a Pyrrhic victory that occurs in common value auctions with incomplete information. In short, the winner's curse says that in such an auction, the winner will tend to overpay. The winner may overpay or be 'cursed' in one of two ways: 1) the winning bid exceeds the value of the auctioned asset such that the winner is worse off in absolute terms; or 2) the value of the asset is less than the bidder anticipated, so the bidder may still have a net gain but will be worse off than anticipated.

I guess guys don't realize that if Ron is traded and not McGrady that Carter would become McGrady's cure. T-Mac said he wanted to play with his cousin again and I believe Carter is the one person who can call out McGrady and Mac wouldn't take anything to the head about it. They both are better than what they were in Toronto can you imagine them now    add Yao in the mix ooooh man this is a scary PAPER team. Just like it was when Artest was traded here

Well don't the combined values for those 4 players (Artest, Battier, Head, Landry) add up to more than what we could receive back (Carter & Boone)?

Yes they do, they mention Carter and Boone for the combination = meaning 'joining, union (of two or more persons or things); number of things combined'. So all 4 players would have to go.

My question is, how come the Rockets haven't rejected this offer immediately because it's downright ridiculous.
We lose 2 SFs in return for a SG --> horrible trade

Morey is working on a stealth trade involving Bosh.

Lol @ the guys that want McGrady gone. McGrady contract is basically up. Carter has 3years + a player or team option. A possibly 4 year stay here for Carter. Its funny how they want to keep a guy like Artest around who has history doing crazy things. Re-Unite the cousins together and leave it at that. Its funny how we had a great team and great year during the season before Artest came. Now Artest is here the team is falling apart. Whispers going on in the locker room guys calling each other out. That wasn't going on before "The Warrior" was brought in.

You guys act like Vince Carter is worse than T-Mac that is not the case at all. I do think that T-Mac has always been the better player than VC, but as of right now Vince is clearly better. Not to mention Vince Carter is durable, people underrate how durable he really is. I don't even understand why people make fun of him for being injured all the time, he really isn't even hurt that much.

Vince Carter is unselfish too, The only problem is similar to T-Mac and Sheed is lack of motivation and passion. Right now what the Rockets need is PRODUCTION, not heart, motivation or passion because the Rockets already have that on their bench.

Vince Carter is T-Mac # 2. Two player who don't really care about winning, we don't need that, however if we can get rid of T-mclady, who IMO is finished, we;ll be better off.....can only keep one.

    How does that improve us?

He is our best defensive player. Can hit the 3 from time to time and hustles his tail off. Then we go and send Artest with him. No improvement I'm seeing

If I am reading the proposal correctly, it is a COMBINATION of the players listed, not necessarily all of them.

I would take it if they threw in a 1st round pick, boi! ;)

No I do agree with you on the D up LJ and Kobe deal. They are unstoppable just maybe cointanable. A superstar is a superstar and Hall of Famers like those 2 are 1 in a million.

That's because earlier people didn't call Tracy out on his lack of interest.
