Good to see Bud getting some recognition. Even better seeing his play of late. He has stepped up big time. I just hope he can keep it consistent.
I hope Hollinger is right about Bud the Dinger. Not sure if the "high FT rate" deal is true, though. He had a couple of high attempt games vs CLE (as a sub) and NJ (as a starter) but his FTA is not all that remarkable after the trade and pales in comparison to Kevin Martin. In fact, Budinger pretty much pales in comparison to any NBA player.
I agree as far as Budinger paling in comparison. I recall watching him slash to the bucket in last nights game vs the Kings that despite his athleticism and his recent outburts offensively, he will likely be elsewhere doing these things. He is more a trade asset to management unless he becomes more consistent and aggressive on offense.
Morey has said repeatedly that one of the reasons the Rockets did not progress this year from last is because the young guys they expected to take the next step have not. I really felt like that was a line of BS but based on the team’s recent success that coincides with the departure of Brooks and the explosion of Budinger I’m starting to believe he really meant it. Had Brooks simply remained the player he was last season and Bud played like this from the beginning I could have easily seen this team finishing with 48 wins if not a few more. If Budinger/Martin continue to be this lethal then the Rockets truly are one shot-blocking, rebounding 7 footer away from looking the Lakers, Spurs etc eye to eye (especially considering the age of those two squads).
Nice, hoping that piece of information reaches Chase-- he would benefit off of ,just a little more, swagger. Challenge the kid some more.. All that aside; he's been having solid games lately, props
C.Bud is alot better than he is playing as of late, even though alot of us see as playing very well since starting. I would love for Chase to get some playoff mins this year. That would truly help him play out to his full potential now and make it easier to elevate his game (the playoff is where you expose or get exposed) Once Chase develops his Eye of the Tiger, or if. It will be a sight to see!
Not necessarily. Although he has only played 6 games starting, he has also had bad shooting games within the six. So it does take into perspective a decent average of him playing well and not so well. Those stats are also not including the 30pt game he had the day before he got the starting position.
