Scola's a beast!! Surprising that Brazil ran away from Scola pretty much every PnR play and left him open... he killed them all day long!!
From Spurstalk: UOL Esporte is reporting Spliter got injured in the game against Croatia, the one he played only 16 minutes. He has a strain right quad. In the beginning of training camp he had the same injury but on the left quad. Brazilian doctor Carlos Andreoli confirmed the report Here’s the link in Portuguese: http://esporte.uol.com.br/basquete/m...eslovenia.jhtm
Interesting mention on Newley. Said he had a strong season, going to Euroleague team this year. Could possibly develop enough to make the team in a couple of years.
I´ve found this clip of all Scola´s 4th quarter baskets against brasil. Youtube Link Also a pic of the LiNing campaign that i´ve really liked
Is it just me or does Luis "Video game god" Scola's jump shot look different? It seems to have more arc. I'm probably just imagining things.
His jump shot has improved a ton since he first joined the Rockets. He shoots it with a very soft touch, and good arc.
This is why Luis Scola is my favorite player. He has the heart of a champion. It just seems like he wants it more than any other player. I felt the same way in the Lakers series a couple of years ago. Scola just works harder than most players and fights tooth and nail every play. Glad he's a Rocket. Wonder what DM thinks about Huertas from Brazil. Dude can score some points.
Hes the man , now if our coach can only learn how to run an effective Pick and Pop system on both sides of the floor and run K mart around like reggie miller and rip hamilton ... while shane and but spot up and cut and brooks and lowry handle the rock .... It will a thing of beauty ... Unstopable . He ran a similar offense in Sacremento years ago but you cant play Post Yao in and out offense all day . That hurts momentum and shot clock while all others sit on their buts and just watch. Impressive Performances Scola . You da man . Coach watch the damn argentinians and follow how they do things .
Something like 18-9...but danged close to 20-10....... Luis is getting some just due attention....we Rocket fans have known all along, now the rest of the league/world is finding out. DD
Considering how intelligent Luis is, he might have worked on improving the arc on his shot to help prevent it being blocked. He had an excellent jumper before he came to the NBA.
Call me crazy but I swore I saw a few fadeaways from Scola. I don't think I've ever seen him try that before, until now.
Geez only if Manu and Noci actually valued, took this tournament seriously and played, ARG would be in the game right now.
Random comment: Delfino always has this look on his face like the court his blessed to have him in its presence, yet he is going to snap someone's neck. I think he and Kobe would drive each other to new extremes of smug faces during a play off series.
