Trading mcgrady for oneal is no way in the same as trading mcgrady for maggette. Trading Mcgrady for Oneal would probably constitute as a 'good' deal actually. You get another 6'11 player for a player coming off microfracture surgery who isnt near 100% and cant keep up with this teams new style of play. Im not saying Oneal will be able to run our new offense, but its sure as **** better than having a non healthy Mcgrady on the team.

JO for T-Mac? Come on people, you would make horrible stock traders. You would buy high and sell low. Wait for the deals, don't let your hatred of T-Mac cloud your thinking. Let's see what the trade deadline brings.
LOL Luis Scola or Brian Cook.... They are talking like they are the same caliber of players. This guy is a moran.
Scola offense is not better than Jermaine O'neal. Stop it... Scola can only go right against smaller players. We saw what happen against Denver's or LA's better frontcourt. O'neal gives us a shot blocking presence in the middle to compliment Ariza and Shane. We would be lights out. Plus O'neal is a better 15ft jumper shooter than Scola. I have much love for Scola, however, with the emergency of Landry, Scola becomes expendable.
you can make the case that they are close in value. both have a nice mid range jumper and decent post game, but o'neal is taller and can get his shot off against taller players (as you said), JO is the better defender and a good shot blocker. in scola's defense he is the better rebounder, and there is something to be said about not missing a game as an nba player.
Yea, I think Jermaine Oneal has missed on average around 27 games a season over in the past five years. Scola makes $20million less for excellent production and he's a better rebounder. Oneal is a better shotblocker and that's not worth paying the guy an extra 20million.

I think the Rockets make a 3 team deal to get what they want without taking any crappy long-term contracts that consist of overpaid players who are ex-allstars post injury. T-Mac goes out and Rockets get 1 solid starter like an A.I.2 + young strong potential players OR guaranteed high, valuable draft picks. It can be done. Morey doesn't need to take on any bad contracts and I don't think he will just to end up with the team still borderline or over the tax threshold. He's looking to cut back on cost and utilize the saved money for a player who gets paid a long term decent long-term contract (like Ariza's) and won't turn into a T-Mac of the future contract that has been so popular this past decade for the Rockets (that means injured and overpaid). Carroll Dawson was far too willing to take on players and contracts who could no longer perform at the level of their contract and it has hurt the Rockets all throughout the late 90's and all of the 2000's. Morey's plan is to reverse that bit by bit and he is doing it. It is a good plan.
