When he came in and dropped 10 in the first quarter, I saw a McGrady that helped open up opportunities for his team. As well as a McGrady who went back to his slashing ways like he did when he first came here. Give him 20mins off the bench and lets see if he can play. that shouldn't hurt
I don't think RA and DM trust TMac enough to risk more than 8 minutes a game on him. The last thing they want is for the team to go back to being up and down like they were last season when McGrady was in the line-up.
This is what started it all: <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PwCWuzEhiZs&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PwCWuzEhiZs&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Cant argue with that but if you dont you need to get rid of him. If he acts up then let him go. But If he doesnt and ends up doing pretty well then the investment paid off. To be honest I think the Rox are in a win win situation. Obviously they wont be paying anywhere close to 20 mil, regardless of what tmac does. But if he plays well enough he'd be more of an advantage than a hindrance. And he honestly seems like the team is open to him being back.
Tracy is not the player he once was, and this team's margin of victory is so slim they can not afford to let him play himself into shape in his way. Either he gets on the floor and busts his butt as a role player, within the system or he sits. It is really not that hard to figure out. DD
Okay, I'll give you props, I enjoyed this. (Too bad, all the parodies using this scene, "Downfall" is a great movie, but who can watch the movie without snickering at this scene now? Go to Youtube and find all its uses.)
I recently saw the film and I couldn't help but laugh during the scene. I'm a filmmaker, and respect the film, but I couldn't help it. I had to do it to express a lot of our frustrations with T-Slack.
He isnt but its not like I want him carrying the team, just give him the chance to prove himself with more time. Allow him to get back in the flow of the game. You need only 5-10 games to really see if that pays off. If it isn't realy doing well for the ROx in 5 then be working on trading him. It wouldn't hurt the Rox. They have great chemistry and I'm sure if it so much as hurts that RA will pull him quickly. At least the rox can say well we gave him the chance and he didn't prove himself. Obviously as much as people criticize tmac, as they have a right to, they deep down want to see him back but within this new team concept. To be honest I think the addition of Yao will disrupt the flow more than Tmac will
joliver, The problem is in how he plays and how it affects the rest of the team. He does not fit into this system, and Rick Adelman has them running the system pretty darned well. He could fit, if he wanted to, but it would be a HUGE change to how Tracy plays. I honestly don't blame Tracy for not wanting to do it, nor do I blame Adelman for not playing him. Tracy's time has passed here in Houston, the team has moved on, I hope they can move him on for the betterment of both him and the organization. DD
But DD, How do we know if we dont give him the chance? I haven't heard him say he doesnt want to do it. There's nothing wrong with seeing if he can do it. If he does do well then Great but if not then it doesnt hurt that we tried. Tmac has to see that this is his only chance to show ANY team he can be an asset. He lost the city with his attitude and antics, sure I know this, and maybe he doesnt deserve a chance, but I do believe if he is willing he can still be important to the Rox playing.
He has had the chance, in practice in small stints in games, and still has not done it. Do you honestly think that Adelman did not give him some perameters or guidelines he needed to meet to get more time? The problem is not on Rick Adelman it is on Tmac.... He has had numerous chances.....how many more should the coach give him? At some point you just have to move on.... DD
I agree but what is your point? The guy wants to play. And I doubt you would be ok with playing 8 minutes a game if you were a capable NBA player.
To be honest I think the addition of Yao will disrupt the flow more than Tmac will Yes it will and if they have Yao back into the team with two different styles of playing it will prove that Adelman & Morey are telling bare faced tall stories at the monent re McGrady.
In game is where you show if you can work within the system much more than practice and 8 minutes isn't exactly time to show anything but try to get your legs warmed up. If RA really feels he justified in how he does it, then I can't argue with him. It would be nice to see him get some more time out there to see how he plays within the system. But I saw a tmac in that seemed to play within himself and not try to much a couple games back. That was a Tmac I believed the Rox were better off with instead of one trying to takeover when he cant anymore. We'll have to agree to disagree, but I definitely understand your point about Tmac
