Well to be fair, they won 4 championships this decade. I think they felt compelled to put Kobe/Lakers for #1 but their choice could have been better.
uhh, the spurs made their free throws. they went 4-4. the turnover at the end was the one play out of 3 they really messed up. even the foul they committed required a 4 point play, which still means tmac needed a great play. we're talking four 3 pointers in a row, one while being fouled, the final while running down the court in a scramble situation and shooting on the move because you have to beat the buzzer. yeah, the spurs had to give us one gift in 3 plays but that was about as ridiculous an ending as you will ever see. as for the list, i'm not sure why people are getting so bent out of shape about buzzer beaters when a team didn't win the series. why does what happened after change the greatness of that moment? i'm not necessarily saying either kobe or lebron's should have been so high (the combination of kobe's regulation ending shot to tie it and then the buzzer beater in OT of a playoff game probably deserves to be somewhere on the list at least), but comparing it to duncan's 3 just because the spurs won the series? duncan was open by a mile and had all day to shoot it. it was just weird because it was 3 feet out of his range, not because it was a tough shot. lebron had to catch and shoot all in one motion with a 6-10 guy up on him. horry's shot probably should be higher because it pretty much, along with bavetta, won the lakers the title and was just a ridiculous play. and to echo others, fisher's .4 shot certainly would seem to be a good candidate for the list (or the combo of duncan's previous shot and then the .4 shot). the baron dunk is overrated. from the common camera angle it looks really cool, but on the underneath camera angle, you can see he doesn't jump from that far out and that he commits a blatant offensive foul. of course i give him bonus points for nailing kirilenko in the face with that offensive foul. i also liked the inclusion of the prince/miller block. that was the greatest defensive game in nba history and that was the signature defensive play and involved a HOFer getting blocked to save a playoff game. it just typified those pistons' defenses. edit: and they probably should have included a vince carter dunk (or just put a compilation of them at #6 or something). i'd go with the alley-oop against the clippers. also, you could practically put that ginobili play from last night on the list. that was one of the better plays you'll ever see.
