ESPN to go 'Behind the Beard' with James Harden story tonight at 9

. Houston Rockets star James Harden rarely gives in-depth interviews, but he sat down with ESPN's Tom Rinaldi for an E:60 feature that will air at 9 p.m. Tuesday on ESPN.

The segment titled "Behind the Beard" will look at how an out-of-shape, asthmatic kid from Compton became an NBA star.

In the interview, Harden talks about growing up without the guidance of his father, who was in prison, and how his mother helped him escape the street-life in one of the country's most dangerous neighborhoods.

well, i told my teammates and my coach and my gm to phase out one of the best centers in the game. but i just wanted more free throws, and he doesnt make his . we're gonna lose him this summer but its ok, its just one of the best centers in the last two decades.

I wonder if Adidas regrets their offer.

Seriously, imagine if we were up and he was cooking. AND this show comes out at this point in time! This should have been viewed as an opportunity, not sympathy. His brand would be going through the roof.

Instead, he's playing No D No 3 in which he just cost his brand and his reputation. Now he's the laughing stock of the league.

He got major work to do this offseason. Better focus on your trade first.

There's no question he was a dude who was getting better every single year and achieving greatness. Until this year.
