I agree. However, our team is not the best as constructed. We have almost 0 chance to be the best this year, ie, winning the championship (very happy to eat crow if I'm wrong). We're discussing who we want to face in the first round just so we can have an extended number of games to watch the Rockets.

And, same as you, I wouldn't mind the Rockets facing any of the top three teams. It seems that we have almost the same chance of winning against any of the top 3 teams (basing on what I read here on GARM - mixed views regarding beating the top 3 teams), so I'll be happy if the Rockets just makes it to the playoffs). 5th seed is what we all want, but that's most probably out of reach.

Agree. Clippers are a terrible matchup for us, and OKC is just plain a better team (for now).

The best case would be for us to make 5th seed and face Memphis, but yeeeah, I don't see that happening. Denver is too good.

Without a doubt. 8th seed is definitely better

    than 9th place

You didn't get the point? It doesn't matter if our team isn't strong enough, to be the best we have to face the best. And who cares if we lose, we learn and get BETTER.

I dont think any team would sweep us but I dont see us making it out of the first round just yet if we make the playoffs.

agree, until the last 5 games, we will know where we will be. heck, the last game against lakers might even be a clincher.

Our best bet is the Spurs, with Parker coming off a serious ankle injury, and Duncan and Ginobli one foot in the NBA retirement grave, we'll have a decent shot to outrun and outgun them.

If there was anyway we could jump to that 5th spot i would be delighted.. but that's probably not happening with the way denver is playing.

I don't really know which team in the top 3 we would have the best chance against, but lets hope either memphis moves to 3rd and we get 6th, or the nuggets fall off and we get the 5th seed, because we match up well against the griz

I don't think we can make it to the 5th seed either. Denver and Memphis look too hard to catch. But we can make it to the 6th and Memphis might catch LAC for the 3rd. That would be the best outcome.

This. Yes I may be a pessimist but I hate how people are talking about us as a shoe in for the playoffs. Lakers are going to make it; no question. And Utah has outdone us many times before. I think it's looking like its between us and golden state to take that last spot.

While fans (inc myself) tend to be pessimistic on these sort of things, for the most part i think they have us penned it at #6

I honestly think we can upset any team in a 7 game series other than the heat... if we are hitting the 3 of course.

I'm watching the Jazz right now. They are getting beat by the Bucks. 10 point ball game and not looking competitive yet. We may make 6th seed tonight! (GSW losing puts us even with them and we have the head to head)
