I agree with you here, though charges may not be filed when insurance can take care of the damages. If there's alcohol involved, then it's a different story.

Roy Miller got drafted. It's true that DT will need work, but we'll have one of the best secondaries and we should have enough talent to fill up on the defensive front. Though Kindle is expected to be THE playmaker on D. As for RB, I highly doubt that McCoy will lead the team in rushing again. I'm still excited about the upcoming football season.

Hopefully this will drop his stock and now the Texans will be able to pick him up :D

Its not likely though the Texans only draft high character guys (which is good)

Can you cite the law on that? I have a hard time believing I could just leave the scene of an accident such as this one in which you crash into a person's home and can wait 8 or more hours to report it.

Once that hole is in the wall, it is open to thieves and others. Not to mention that someone could have been injured.

With the kind of holes Kindle creates a move to the offensive line should be in his immediate future.

Wasn’t there a Supreme Court ruling recently that stated, if you crash your car into someone’s apartment, you can’t be prosecuted….as long as you pull the car out, abandon it, then – and this is the key – immediately go to bed.

    Does anyone have a link?

    I found this:

    http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/docs/TN/content/htm/tn.007.00.000550.00.htm

It is ambiguous with respect to timeliness. It appears he may have violated two of the sections. One in which the damage to a vehicle was such that it could not be driven (the section is unclear as to whether or not this is definitely a different vehicle or the vehicle he was driving). the other was that he did $200+ damage to a "fixture" (which I assume the apartment building is considered).

I think that only applied if there was someone stuck in the windshield.

I've put attorney Brian Roark on speed dial in case i'm ever in a tight legal fix and need the Immediately Go To Bed [IGTB] defense.

This is why most UT players don't translate well into the NFL. Mack Brown is like their best buddy, and teaches them no discipline.

This statement really irks me. There is this myth about Mack that he doesn't discipline his players, when in truth he does way more than most coaches.

Just off the top of my head, Dre Jones kicked off the team for drugs. Tarell Brown & Tyrell Gatewood suspended for Ohio St. game in '06. Buck Burnette kicked off team for racial remarks. Lamarr Houston suspended last year for DWI.

The University of Tennessee has signed a convicted rapist, the University of Oklahoma just signed a kid accused of attacking his girlfriend with a screwdriver... yet Mack is the one who lets his kids run wild.

Right, I meant losing Miller and Lewis hurt since we haven't recruited that well at DT lately. I'm expecting big things out of Lamarr Houston if he can stay healthy. At DE, hopefully Eddie Jones can emerge as a player since he was a 5-star prospect coming out of HS.

The apartment office was not open at 2am, he called the next morning ~9am and took full responsibility. Everything I have read about this basically said that he reacted (post-accident of course) in a reasonable manner and that no charges would be pressed regardless if he had "star power" or not. So it's not even the "8 hours" thing, if he crashed at 8am and didn't call till that night it might be viewed differently.

One other thing to consider is that he was diagnosed with a concussion the next morning. So even if you think he should have done more it's likely that his judgment was affected to a certain degree.

The bottom line (to me) is that he made a dumb mistake, alcohol may or may not have been involved, but it can not be shown one way or the other. Given the known facts I have trouble imagining any suspensions for Kindle. That said, if MB thought differently I would certainly understand, he of course knows Kindle more than us and may thing action is warranted.

He could have left a note. He should have called the police, especially if it was simply an accident and there were no contributing factors. For all he knew, someone was injured when he rammed into the apartment building.

It's also patently untrue that most UT players don't translate well into the NFL. Aaron Ross, Bo Scaife, Leonard Davis, Derrick Dockery, Michael Griffin, Casey Hampton, Quentin Jammer, Nathan Vashar, Roy Williams, and many others all say "Hi".

The problem here is that it's still not reasonable. If you run a whole through a wall into someone's bedroom in middle of the night, you don't simply leave. You don't have to call the apartment complex - call the freaking police. You have no idea what kind of damage you might have done and it's dumb to leave a big whole in someone's home in middle of the night.

There were several of them in the car. They all took the time to move the car out of the building and leave it somewhere, so it's not like it was a sudden thing to leave. They all had time for someone to think "hey, maybe we should tell someone about this."

And that's quite convenient for him, given that he had a DWI a few years ago.
