    He is from Houston
    He went to UT
He is a quarterback who is a freakish athlete
He is not a freakish athlete who is a quarterback
He is smart and knows when to run out of bounds to avoid the big hits and he doesn't do it because he is scared to get hit like Bush
    He is from Houston
    He can walk on water
    He went to UT
    He is clutch
He has been a winner where ever he has been
    He wants to play here
    Rose Bowl...

I'm just joking but that is some of the things I have seen listed here.

I can't wait for the draft, Reggie or Young, I will be thrilled with either one of them.

    Go Houston Texans!!

for me, bush > young anyday. young is an unbelieveable talent, prolly a better version of vick but young is a risky pick imo. id stick with carr who's better poised and experienced. get bush and get a better OL is my wishlist for the texans this season. with the ol making holes for bush and davis, our backs will have no prob goin to the endzone. and if thats not goin to work, go in the air with johnson. if we get bush, our offense will be much better.

I'll take Bush, but lemme tall you, David Carr is not good at all. He shown me nothing in his career to make me go  . Young on the other hand has shown me things I've never seen before. And yeah he's doing it against college players, but
    Young in College>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Carr in college.
Vince is unique; Carr is nothing but an average QB at best.

I had to do a double take on this post. Did you just say that David Carr is better poised than Vince Young? You must be kidding me. The guy looks down his #1 receiver, panics after 2 seconds after the snap and starts running like his life depended on it.

All this is rightfully so because of his horid offensive line. But don't say that he's better poised than a guy that led his team back from 12 down with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter in the National Championship game against a team that just won 34 straight games.

LOL, good stuff. Yeah, I really don't understand people saying they won't be fans anymore if we don't draft Vince. But whatever, peace out.

Honestly, is that such a bad thing? The only thing Mack and GD did was let Vince play. I think if Vince gets nfl type coaching, he could be something else.

Also, I'm not sure if VY is as fast as Carr, Matt Jones, or LBs in the nfl. But, the guy is more elusive than both of the aforementioned QBs and will be able to elude nfl lbs.

I hope the Texans take young. Seeing him in Tennessee would be horrible. I don't like the Titans.

    :D

You know, there is only one thing that bothers me about these threads. I understand why so many people really like a certain player (no matter who). I just can't get over the certain claims people make about those players. Posts like "he is more poised", "we will be a less risk pro", or "he will change the way the position is played" just make me laugh and annoyed at the same time.

HOW THE HELL DO WE KNOW??!!!!

Neither guy has played a snap in the NFL. So, until then (and probably once they get 1-2 full seasons under their belts), we will NEVER know how good either will be at the next level. I don't care what he did at any other level. It's not the NFL and it's not against NFL talent and NFL coaching. Yes, it's nice to see how many yards, passing or running, players total; or how they have progressed through their college careers. But, until they show the same thing at a consistent basis in the NFL, it doesn't matter. How many great college QB's & RB's have been complete disappointents or, better yet, how many haven't even made a NFL roster?

So, the claims people make just are obnoxious. Neither guy is the equivalent of Michael Jordon, or is a certain hall-of-famer. They are both great, GREAT college players who are PROJECTED to make great pros. If you are a TRUE Texans' fan, you shoul be ecstatic we are getting a great player either way.

Since when do you have to autimatically pledge your loyalty to your home team. Especially a team thats 4 yrs old. The beauty of having a preffered sports team is the emotional investment placed on them by individuals, ie suffering through losses, etc. It's a gradual process. I barely got my 1st pimple when the Oilers left and at that time I cared more about Basketball and Baseball. I was off in College when the Texans came.

Maybe its a generational thing. Older folks who loved the Oilers displacing years of affection onto the Texans.

I don't think reggietodd was knocking anyone not rooting for their hometown team. Just making a comment about those who say that aren't going to follow the Texans if they don't draft Bush in that they probably weren't big fans of the team anyway.

Jordan is a basketball player. He wouldn't have lasted a week in the NFL.

I did agree with most of what you said though. I'm happy to wait and see how it goes. I wish Young (wherever he goes) the best, but I have to side with Bush. It's not as much a distraction (Vince learning a new system in the NFL might not go as smooth as his off-the-cuff moves in college) as it is a talent addition.

I emailed John McClain just to see what he thought about this. Personally, I don't see how much validity this can have since neither team can't comment on Bush or Young. Never heard a team say who their going to take 4 months to the draft either. Anyways, here's what he replied:

Anyone else hear about Fisher to Houston?

Aha, where's Chan Galey to develop "Super Slash"? Now, there's a possible solution. Draft Vince, and line up from WR to RB, and occasionally duck him behind center and let him develop as a slash threat. If he really is as good as everybody is saying he is, he would be just as big a threat as Reggie at the tailback spot, wouldn't he?

Then when he is ready, trade Carr for picks, players, etc.

ill say the name Vince Young sounds like greatness to me. Michael Jordan, Muhammed Ali, Vince Young, Dale Earnhardt, Hakeem Olajuwon. The name fits right in with all those greats. And Vince looks great in that jersey.

i've been rooting for VY LONGER than the Texans have been playing. i went to high school games to watch the guy. of course, i followed him closely in college.

this isn't the astros or the rockets who i've been in love with since i was 5.

i know you haven't been here a long time...but look at who is saying this. i'm a hometown homer in the biggest way. the biggest proponent for the city and its teams on this board, perhaps. chance wrote fight songs for the texans and songs about their players. he's a hometown homer, too.

all of you can roll your eyes....but vince is more houston than the texans are.

    you probably right
life long ties take more than 4 yrs of losing football to build

I was a life long oiler fan
Went through the fire with those guys
I pretty much gave up football when they left
when the texans came .. i was of the mind of eh
Second year .. I watched more. . they had some bright spots
    third year. . . I liked them .. .
fourth year they gutted the defense and their QB lost his nerve
    if he ever had them

the stuff folx talking about with VY is kind fo dumb
WE WILL HAVE TO REBUILD: we are 2-14 .. we rebuilding anyway
HE WIL HAVE TO LEARN A NEW SYSTEM: We got a new coach and OC . . .everyone will be learning a new system
 about why VY learning is so much worse than Carr learning?
Carr has not shown that he had learned the old system .. . AT ALL
he has moments. . but that is it .. .
