Because it is simply what is better for the team and the player. I trust your opinion and frequent your other site. I just gotta say that you're wrong on this one. In this case, it does matter what the fans think. It does matter that season ticket sales will effectively grind to a halt the second they were to announce another season with David Carr. They can say that publicly all they want to. Of course it matters. But that's not why he goes. He goes because I believe that Kubiak, Smith, and the coaching staff do not have faith in his ability to lead this team. By nature, the QB should be considered a team leader and DC has never shown this ability. Even my mother notices it and she doesn't watch much football. His big statistical games come when they're playing from behind. In the wins, the ball was pretty much taken out of his hands. I don't believe (no, I don't have proof...this is my opinion) that his teammates believe in him. Maybe someone else will somewhere else.
I ve watched just about every game David Carr has played as a Texan. Most of the time I ve seen him either being sacked, intercepted, fumbling or getting his passes knocked down at the line of scremige. This in summary is what I have seen. A man physically equal to the task but: He does not have the main tool a quarterback needs, a quick mind. In short, he is not intellegent enough for the job. He telegraphs his plays to the defense. This has been stated by more than one of his opponents He never got over that stupid sidearm pass. Defensive lineman have a field day knocking down Too many of his passes are not catchable, especially long ones He does not know how to win, when things go bad, he broods He does not run enough, wqhen he has run, he has spread out the defense He cannot play pro football I have lways wondered. In practice does he get to play against Texans first team defense? They are in the better 50 % of defenses in the league. Do they get a chance to beat the **** out of him, tell him David you dumb ass my grandmother knew where you were going to throw the ball.
possibly. with a line that he has confidence in, a running game he trusts, extremely low expectations (no pressure) and a locker room that actually respects him. then he might be successful...maybe no chance in Houston. I was all for keeping him last season but he proved once again that he is not even remotely close to an elite quarterback and he has zero leadsership skills. it sucks b.c I wanted him to succeed to shut all the UT fans up
