yeah. twice. but, he's probably upset, and that's likely carr's fault, so... let's go ahead and hold carr responsible for him leaving when he does at some point in the future....... there is PLENTY of ammo available to those who want carr gone without having to resort to crap like this, supposing he's driving players away. it's every bit as ridiculous as the implication that he ruined careers (gaffney, miller)....
Don't forget Coach Killer I seem to remember AJ having some interesting comments towards the end of the year
hows bout, rather than trying to remember them (ie making them up), you get to googling and post some of them - sound good?
If The Texans sign Plummer, I'm once again a Titan fan. I was a Oiler/Titan fan until the Texans came to town and decided to give them a shot. However, my hate for Jake Plummer runs far deeper than my love for the Texans.
That's a shame. Anyway, I'm starting to hope we don't bring in Plummer. I'd rather keep Carr, give Sage and whoever we (hopefully) draft at QB a real chance to beat him out during camp. Then we could use the money we save (by not cutting him) to sign someone else.
I can't really put my finger on it, but I've never liked the guy, even going back to his ASU days. It really comes down to this being the last straw with me and the Texans. I grew up and Oiler fan, and even stuck with them when they moved to Tennessee. I loved the McNair/George days and it was an extemely tough call for me to give the Texans a shot. Even over the last five years, I've found myself still following the Titans and rooting for them. That combined with being a UT alum, it's damn near impossible for me to root against Vince (UT football trumps all else in my heart). I don't expect people to agree with me. I'm sure I'll be called a fair weather fan and all that stuff, but I've honestly never felt like a true Texan fan. I'm just going back to the team I grew up loving and honestly never stopped loving.
Last time I looked the Texans put up a better December than the Cowboys.. and they just lost Big Bill... and the QB behind center in the last defeat of the AFC Champs was who again? Why bring in Plummer and dump Carr? To take a cap hit? We are going in the right direction... up four wins... and the team in Valley Ranch will slide the other way for at least a season by some indicators... I'd say the Texans can be 8-8 with Carr... and there is NO way to say they'd do better than that with Plummer. I'd say it's a signing (if it happens) to help be Carr's tutor, much like Arizona Cardinal situation... Carr has never had a real on field mentor... and since Jake knows the system, he may actually be the clip board holder... a clip board holder that just might come into a game at the first sign of trouble, a la Vinny T in Dallas a few years back. This would spell "bye, bye, Sage" to me more than "bye, bye, Carr." It looks like some old fashioned REAL competition is Kubiak's last test of Carr's drive and leadership skill set.... perhaps to jar him into reality that either he lead, or get packing.
I haven't read this thread, but I think it makes sense to bring Plummer in. I say this because Kevin Kolb is like Jake Plummer, only with better skills.
If I knew we wanted to mimic the Broncos this bad I would never have been pro Kubiak. And thats coming from a freakin Ag. Lets take a team with $@itier personel and mimic the Broncos completey. Ya thats a recipe for success right? Hell we'll even take their fading QB. He is Choke City if there ever was one.
Who cares about the Cowboys? We have our own problems. We probably could be 8-8 w/ Carr, but how can you say there is NO way we could do better w/ Plummer? Out of our 6 wins, Carr threw 0 TDs in 3 of them, including a negative passing yardage peformance against Oakland. Plummer was really good in Kubiak's system, and I know we don't have the talent Denver did, but a lot of people predicted the Broncos to go to the SB w/ Plummer as their QB. I'm not saying Plummer will take us to the SB, but I say give him a shot while we groom a QB for a year. I hope Carr is done as a Texan, I just don't think he has much more to offer. We would have to take a cap hit but that's the price you have to pay when you make dumb decisions. No, the games Carr cost us was the Dallas game, remember 3 straight turnovers on 3 straight possessions in the third quarter when he started the quarter with a slim lead? He cost us at least the game up in Tenn and in NE, both simply pathetic excuses for performances from a supposed seasoned veteran. He would've cost us the Raider game, but Kuby changes game strategies in midstream and let his running game, defense and special teams combine to win the game not the QB. How embarrassing! Giants game and both Jag games, Carr played with some accidental attitude. The Bills game, he left plays out on the field that could have closed out the game without Losman's chance at heroics. That 3rd and 2 and Carr throws a gimme slant too high to AJ when the Texans could have and would have extended the drive and ate more clock. Tenn game here, he sits on the ball before the half because Kuby has no confidence in him and instead of going for the TD to win the game, Carr gets the Texans a FG to tie and send to OT and we all know what happened next ... So a big YES, the QB position can make or break a team big time. Enough said. Sorry, Carr has to go!
Aren't you the one that made the argument that cap space wasn't that important in the Vince Young vs Carr extension debate? I can't believe there are still Carr apologists.
