1. Vince Carter - The prerequisite Dunk Title (with arguably the best series of contest dunks ever) Ferocious in-game dunks and smooth dunks both. Then to the Olympics and the Dunk of Death. I don't see how there's so much question to it it really - Vinceanity's the greatest dunker ever. 2. Dr J. - He brought dunking to the forefront from the ABA and original dunk contests. The first guy people really payed to watch with the thought of possibly seeing him do some highlight dunks. 3. Dominique Wilkins - Human Highlight Reel indeed. Just straight nastiness. Pure explosion to the rim. Plenty height on his dunks and body movements while in the air. Would have no problem putting him at #2 but wanted to give respects to the Dr. 4. Jordan - Graceful, airy poetic dunks. Mixed in occasional ferocity but not enough for me to put him #1. Would knock him down more but did have some creative dunks and some innovation with the free throw miss tip-in dunks. 5. Shawn Kemp - Passionate POWERFUL dunker. Filthy throwdowns. Could grab any pass from anywhere for an alley oop. Could bang one down on anyone. There's some other noteables (I have Clyde at #6) but I don't think anyone's in the top 5 for a while. Just mix and match those names then its everyone else.
I agree with this list.. except I'd swap Dr J and Dominique, and Clyde makes my top five. But Vince is numero uno, no doubt about that
