You wanted me? Here I am. ESPN may think that Hakeem made a mistake, but that is just their opinion. I think he made the best basketball choice. The Rockets are better than the Raptors, but the Raptors play in the east. The Rockets didn't give him any reason to stay, thanks to their "Under the table" deal with Taylor. I so wish that he had stayed, but I probably wouldn't have if I had been in his shoes.
"Kelvin Cato, please pick up the red phone and report to duty." Funny! I'm very hesitant to say this team will be better than last season. Hakeem would have been a valuable asset in schooling EG. Now we have Cato as that mentor.
Actually, Hakeem has done very little mentoring recently. I recall one of the younger guys saying he had hoped to be able to play with Dream in the summer, but he had left town. But at least he was a good influence! I can just imagine the scene in the locker room now: <pre>EG: Hey, Kelv, wanna work with me on blocked shot drills? KC: Zzzzzzzzz... EG: KELVIN! KC: Huh? Wha? EG: C'mon. lets go do some drills, you can help me with shot blocking. Or we can grab some caroms and start fast breaks. KC: Don't wake me up again. EG: How will we improve if we don't practice? KC: Who cares? We already signed contracts, kid.</pre> We need to get rid of this guy. Maybe we can trade him, the trade exception, and the Torono draft picks for Tree Rollins or something...
