Seems like a waste of money to me when they already have a swingman rotation of Wade/lebron/battier/miller and then possibly Jones. They need to focus on the center and PG positions.

Mike Miller and James Jones might retire. If both players decide to retire, that would be a significant loss to their rotation. If Miller and Jones are healthy and ready to come back, I would rather sign a big man instead of Ray Allen if I was the Heat.
I bet he waits to see if we get Howard and if we do I bet he would seriously consider us. KG as well.
You can never have too many shooters. Besides, It's not like the Heat have that many anyways especially if Miller and Jones are both gone.
How do you figure that? Doc has Jesus running off screens all game as Adelman did with Martin. He won't get that under McHale.
A team built around Lebron could always use a shooter. Battier and Miller's shooting proved to be valueable during the Finals but they didn't bring it consistently during the season. Ray can help them. At this stage of his career, chasing another ring is an understandable move.
Y'all don't think they can get a shooter later in the draft, at a cheaper price, who's less likely to get injured? I think it's better to get an experienced Big, usually they can prove to still be effective with nagging injuries. If Allen's ankle is bugging him, his shot is gone, and what does he have left?
You roll the dice....or wait until one of the younger players up his game to that level.... but until then it is more about reputation.... Ray Allen was a perennial all star while Martin has not been one
Jones is retiring and Miller has a back problem that seriously kills his potential contribution level. Ray Allen on the other hand is an EXCELLENT off-ball rotational player and if he finds chemistry with Wade/James and their drive and kick-outs? The Heat would be UNSTOPPABLE. Open looks for Allen all day when the other team eventually double teams Wade and/or LeBron and/or even Bosh.
