I agree with Chilly_ Pete. No to Howard for JYD. Can we get JYD with the TE and a 2nd round pick? If so I would do it.
LOL! Some GM. A couple of months ago, Steve was THE MAN. Now, he's had a bad couple of weeks and he's not sure that he's the right person long term. This guy sounds exactly like so many managers I've known in my life
Hoops...hype shows Kurt Thomas' contract running only three more years after this year, expiring the summer of 2008: http://**************/salaries/new_york.htm But it shows J Howard having a player option in 2008, that would add another year until the summer of 2009: http://**************/salaries/houston.htm
Why are you against trading Howard for Kurt Thomas? Same age, similar contract, only Kurt Thomas is a better defender and fits our system better than Howard. He can hit the midrange jumper as well. As we're not trading Howard for Tim Duncan anytime soon, how does this hurt us at all? If we miss out on a young free agent power forward this offseason, I'de rather go into camp with the defensive Thomas.
Not sure is this has been posted or not but Marc Stein reports on ESPN.com that the Warriors are looking to move Cliff Robinson and the "San Antonio, Houston and Minnesota are also among the interested". Other teams that are thought to be interested are New Jersey, Miami, and the Cavs. Since he has an expiring contract I wouldnt mind getting him. Could come in useful in the playoffs.
right now, j howard is playing goood bball. Trading him will only disturb our chemistry. he is getting his shots back and playing very well. i would wait for the offseason to trade him. For Mo T just trade him for any one who can help. JYD for Mo T,
No you weren't. You were criticized for thinking that NY would trade us Kurt Thomas for Mo Taylor, Reece Gaines and Charlie Ward.
I suggested it as an idea to be discussed, I was not "thinking" it would happen. I see that you apparently lack the comprehension skills to understand the difference. Plus, the trade I suggested included them getting rid of Jerome Williams' contract, and I also asked whether they might be interested if we included a pick. What is being discussed in this thread here, among other things, is Thomas/Williams for Mo/Howard. From a contract standpoint, that would be worse for NY than what I suggested.
If you didn't think NY could/would agree to a trade like that, then why did you start a thread suggesting it? You were criticized for the trade proposal itself, not for the idea of brining Kurt Thomas to the Rockets. Funny how you have the audacity to call me out for something that never occured and then say that I have "comprehension skills". I would suggest an apology is in order, but I know you'd much rather continue the "poor SJC" routine instead of saying that you were wrong for calling me out in this thread.
