Well, clark only recently discovered he was a democrat, so he's probably still learning how to be humorless and thin-skinned...

hmmmm, how many of the democratic candidates voted for the patriot act? and Clark wrote a letter to ESPN, demanding they fire Rush, he didn't just make a comment on the issue at a campaign stop.

hmmmm, he's running for President... isn't he supposed to have opinions on topics like this? If he hadn't said anything, you'd probably criticize him for being insensitive.

My point is/was, that i'm not sure this rises to the level of being one of the great issues of the day, and that this is just an example of political opportunism and grandstanding on their part. not that they're only ones to ever engage in that type of behaivoir...also, the letter to ESPN strikes me as kind of creepy, and if our current AG had wrtten such a letter, you'd all be crying "Abuse of Civil Liberties! They're trying to muzzle our right to dissent!," or some such nonsense. further evidence of a double standard in politics, IMHO.

Isn't there some issues a whole hell of a lot more important than what some radio guy said on TV? They're just joining in on the piling on to build support among their far-left kook base, who hates Rush. They are what I'd call cheapies for sure.

Hey, Thomas got fired by Bird recently, he's still feeling the sting from that comment made to teammates that the liberal media overheard and decided not to cover up.

I don't really know if Rush's statements were racist or not, but he basically questioned the credibility of sports writers everywhere and accused them of having an agenda other than reporting sports. He also belittled the efforts and past accomplishments of McNabb all to make a political point. Let's not forget that by claiming that McNabb is the great black hope of the media, he basically said that the other talented black QB's weren't any good. Do these guys, their teammates, and their fans not have a reason to be pissed?

As for the liberal media vs Fox News etc., I'm gonna spell it out right here.

Liberals don't believe there is such thing as a liberal media, ie, that the majority of the media is liberal. It's really easy to site one liberally slanted article in a paper, not mention a conservatively slanted one on the next page, and then claim "A-ha! Liberal media." The reasons conservatives attack the media is because they feel that it makes them look bad when it reports something like the cutting of a school lunch program for poor kids by reporting that aspect instead of saying it is a way to cut taxes. Can you blame any media for not focusing on the bad outcome for the kids instead of the positive outcome of people's wallets? Anyways, we liberals are tired of this liberal media nonsesense because you guys have been claiming it for years. That's why a biased channel like Fox News takes so many hits from us, it's an obvious target. It's not like we are sniping it from far away though, our hits are just counter punches from years of taking what we are now dishing out.

What was ironic was watching NFL live last night. Salisbury and the other dork were doing exactly what Rush said they had been doing. They went off on how good the black qb's were and proceeded to beef them up for like 5 minutes. Irony at it's best. what they should have been doing was adressing what Rush dealt with. Which was the media and it's portayal of black qb's.

Well, he's not a big fatty and he got into Harvard on his own merits, so no. Also, if you read the book, he makes jokes about himself having to work out if he's going to make fun of Rush for being fat.
