Are we still going to be getting a good deal from the Knicks?

i check every 12 hours or so, and there hasn't been anything. the only teams that's improved are the cavaliers and mavholes, i'm not checking back until the deadline's past.

Well so much for the announcement on Wednesday. I just want to get SOMETHING for McGrady, I mean that is just wasted money since we aren't playing him.

He will be a restricted free agent. RT @NLax33: does tyrus have 1 year deal?

Walsh also said he felt "optimistic" about some of his potentials deals working out, but not all. Said he is "hopeful" to get something done

Asked if the Darko/Cardinal trade would affect another move, Donnie Walsh said, "Not directly, but yes."

It's funny, the Rockets went from holding NY hostage with a tough deal with picks and players / harrington etc, and now we are at a point where NY is reportedly not offering near as much and keeping harrington to flip him from Ty Thomas. NY should be begging for these contracts for cap space yet looks pretty firm here in their stance. Perhaps a game of chicken all the way down to the deadline wire?

Donnie has all these side deals going....

I hope Morey has some up his sleeve while screwing the Knickercockers.

That's big news. RT @AdamZagoria: Walsh also said NBA had given him cap relief on the retired Cuttino Mobley, ($9.5 million).

I think we'll be doing some side deals to bring us under the luxury tax line, but probably Cook + cash for the right to swap second rounders..

I don't think another team can trade for that cap relief.

The NBA stands to benefit with The Knikcs being relevant again. Its worked with The Lakers and Celtics getting good again. So, I don't doubt the validity of your statement.

Does that mean NYK don't have to get rid of Jeffries?

No pressure on Walsh? Knicks have sucked for years. Walsh comes in and tells fans to accept 2 more years of deliberate suckage, so that we can be big players in 2010. That's been the message for 2 years in NYC, the most impatient fan base in the world.

Is he really going to stop now and not clear the Jefferies salary?

i think fans will be pissed at him if he does give up the 2012 pick unprotected, with the 2011 pick, with hill.

he knows with the acquisition of jamison, lebron is staying in cleveland. so there's really no pressure on him now if you look at it that way. hell, they may just suck another year and wait for chris paul in 2011.

I'm not sure what this means for us.

Initial thoughts are...not good...Maybe now Walsh isn't as desperate to get rid of Jeffries.

It sucks the NBA has to do this RIGHT NOW! Right when they know we're in tough negotiations with this team.

Or maybe this will make Walsh want to clear even more cap space...

I think he and Morey will wind up meeting in the middle, and we'll get Hill plus either the 2012 pick with minimal protection if any, or the 2011 pick swap.

Walsh will be able to sell that as a "win" considering what has been reported as Houston's original demands for both.
