    lolz

It is appalling. It's like an auction. RT @AndrewLiv: Do they (Rockets) have to make everything public?

If we do decide to buy him out...wont the monetary value be less that the full contract value. But I'm going to assume that T-Mac will probably ask for the full remainder or something pretty close.

We get jipped enough in the national media, the all star game, and on national televised games....Stern is a NY fan.

Time for some Houston payback beyatchs.

No, it doesn't, winning teams can't trade for him because his contract is too large, same with even rebuilding teams. There's only a few teams that can offer up any sort of value for taking back McGrady in return. I'm sure there would be far more interest if he made 10M less.

It's NOTHING like the Marbury situation.

We've already seen Barkley say Rockets are doing T-Mac is wrong. Or that Wade is claiming McGrady is ready to play, and SHOULD be playing, and should get more minutes to prove his worth. Their not the brightest of individuals, but they are the media nonetheless.

If we don't trade McGrady by the deadline, and don't buy him out, thus stripping him from playing the rest of the season, it would look like the Rockets are trying to sabatoge McGrady for electing to take surgery. That hurts our perception in the eyes of potential FA's.

I know many people here want off with McGrady's head, but many people see that T-Mac wasn't right last year, elected for surgery, and the Rockets have banished him off, when he's supposedly worked hard to come back.

It's nothing like Marbury, don't get those two situations confused.

It's their franchise, Amar'e is going to Cleveland.

So there goes Lebron... Really doubt he'd go to New York to be rebuilt around again, and especially since right now they can't bring one of his buddies along :p

LOL, we are usually the tightest lipped team in the league. NY can go f themselves.

That being said guys, no way we'd fall into the demands of a full buyout. I'm certain, we'd negotiate for less, as we would have the leverage. But if he isn't traded (all this is moot, since I feel he will), a buyout will result.

From a fan view, I think both CHI and NY trades are ok, but not great. Both are giving up this and next seasons. I don't want to wait so long.

I still think it is better for the rockets to trade Battier for expiring contract so that they can sign a star player this summer. When Yao is back next season, the rockets will be a pretty good team.

In that case why would anyone want to go to New York?

Because they have done this to numerous players, time and time again this past decade.

Again, the Rockets have a much better shot at signing a star player this summer if they do the Knicks deal and have lots of bait to go with the young talent already on the roster - that is, future picks, a sizable expiring contract (Jeffries) to help salaries work, etc. We could have all the cap room in the world - and still we'd be offering 15% less and a year shorter than what these free agents can get from their own teams or through a sign and trade.

If you want to sign a star player this summer, there's no question in my mind that trading McGrady and collecting future pick assets is the best way to do that.

Orlando and Toronto did just fine getting free agents post T-Mac drama.

Is it incorrect to assume something will happen in the next hour? Or are we pretty much left in the dark until pregame or something? Refreshing so many pages is keeping me from doing anything.

Steve Francis? How is that even relevant. He actually played the rest of the season for the Knicks, and half the next season. That bottom line was he played poorly, and was in his own injury problems as well. But I don't recall them sitting him when he was supposedly healthy, and worked hard to come back.

And the Knicks history, or so, the only person they've really kept in isolation was Marbury, and the general consensus was that he deserved it. The rest, the Knicks actually bought out, or traded. That's what will happen here with McGrady as well, I'm talking towards the situation if no trade occurs, and we don't buy him out. Which will NOT happen, so it's moot.
