[ESPN] Rockets to decide on Knicks, Bulls offer Wednesday

I think Morey's dream scenario is playing out and he is going for the jugular on this bad boy... :grin:

 

Im thinking the same thing, it may come down to who coughs up more picks or more attactive draft picks to who ever gets the deal done between Chicago and NY. Could easily get into a bidding war by tonight or early morning.

 

So its come down to Knicks vs Bulls, who will win the McGrady Contract!?!

Okay so I personally would be shocked if Morey hasn't already contacted other teams about possible deals that the Rockets would be interested in if/when the deal with Chicago/NY goes through. Why haven't we heard of any names or teams the Rockets are interested in?

 

Protection wise I would propose 2 scenarios to NY

#1- Next year swap has no protection at all, and then 2011-2012 is top 10 protected.

Or

#2- Next years pick has lottery protection against swap, 2011-2012 is unprotected and we also acquire 2012-2013 unprotected.

Cartwright did have a mean elbow...i just still think phoenix is out there hanging in the balance...its obvious we need a shooting guard more than anything and neither one of those teams can provide that except maybe salmons...

I think we might see simultaneous deals tomorrow if this drags on...I could see us being a facilitator in the Amar'e trade with us getting Barbosa to play the SG spot we need.

 

Nice ideas, but ANY protection on the 2011 pick will be a real fly in the ointment.

If the Rockets are definitely getting the Knicks' 2012 pick (subject to protection), then the next PICK the Rockets could get from them would be their 2014 first rounder. Or they could agree to SWAP 2013 picks, with little/no protection.

I bet Morey is shooting for something closer to your #1.
