That is what I am thinking as well...

But morey thinks FUTURE. We will see. Sources say Chicago trade is more likely.

I can't see McGrady stay happy playing off the ball alongside Rose. Two players who dominate the ball except Rose holds the reins to that franchise.

yea and I think morey is making a great choice. future over the present anyday. I think he learnt from the ron artest lesson that giving away 2 first rounders doesnt really pay off in the end.

but really? which sources? I thought espn said new york is what hou is leaning towards.

I wouldnt mind trading jefferies and battier to chicago for hinrich and salmons though if chicago is keen. they save 2 extra million dollars and get extra 2 million capspace

Jeffries only has 1 year left.

You don't make the Chicago deal unless you plan on keeping Tyrus Thomas (or flipping him to another team immediately). I have a hard time seeing us keep Landry, Scola, and either Jordan Hill or Tyrus Thomas, so curious to see if something else happens with Scola at the deadline.

There's no way I do the Knicks trade if Larry Hughes is in it instead of Harrington. No freakin' way.

    Pick the Bulls.

    This is what I'd prefer:

Bulls 2010 1st round pick (unprotected)
    +
Thomas (flip and package another asset for Ginobili+Splitter, Kevin Martin, etc...)
    +
Hinrich (flip for expirings, minny and lakers rumored to have interest)
    +
    Miller (expiring)

I think NY will give us choose between Hughes or Harrington.
Losing Harrington or Hughes is nothing to them...

They are both expiring. If the Rockets plan to re-sign neither. I'd like the Knicks to keep whoever best helps them to the playoffs this season. Got to spoil that Jazz pick.

we'd have our ownlottery pick. thats enough. I highly doubt chicagos pick will be lottery pick.

but we wont have our ownlottery pick in 2011. so we need new yorks.

so two lottery picks vs. one late first rounder? hmmmmm

hence why new yorks pick is better

He has 'only' 1 year but if we acquire him from NY, we will have to forget about free agency this offseason

rockets aren't getting two lottery picks from the knicks. as bad as they are they're only 7 wins away from the playoffs this season. with the young players they have they'll only get better. they don't have to be contenders to spoil those picks just scrape into the playoffs.

why not go through the deal with New York for Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries, Al Harrington and Picks, then trade Harrington plus pick to Chicago for Tyrus Thomas. Isn't that what the Knicks was going to offer to Chicago to try to pry Thomas but Chicago is reluctant to part with a draft pick.

I like the Bulls trade maybe a little more, but we need a SG and Hinrich isn't the one ...

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfutjv8

I don't know if this one would have I change and maybe I'm just dreaming too much ... but hey, it's a proposal!

=> Bulls get T-Mac and Scola from the Rockets. I really think by given up Scola to the Bulls, Chicago is going to be more willing to give us Salmons. Mike James and Oberto are also expiring contracts and fillers for them. All four players are expiring, so they can try to sign Wade this summer ...

=> Wizards get Battier, a leader next to Jamison ... or a new leader to replace Jamison IF they trade him away. Cook, Jerome James and Pargo are expiring fillers and 'replace' Oberto and Mike James.

=> Rockets ... Brad Miller, Thomas AND two offensive minded SG in Salmons and Mike Miller!

    * Rockets new line-up:

    C: B. Miller/Hayes/Anderson
    PF: Landry/Thomas/Dorsey
    SF: Ariza/Budinger/Taylor
    SG: M.Miller/Salmons
PG: Brooks/Lowry (and Conroy or Temple)

Al Harrington is not part of the package. It is Larry Hughes

Come on, Salmons is a bad contract, ie untradeable to 28 other teams. The reason why the Rockets are getting a draft pick is because they're willing to take on Salmons.
