I was not aware that the rest of the NBA shared Cheese Doodles and TMac's attitude towards the Rockets Brass

If what has been said about the McGrady situation is true, I think the Rockets have pretty much dug their own grave for the way they have handled this. Letting McGrady choose would be saying, "hey, we messed up but we're gonna let him decide where he wants to go for himself so technically we aren't as bad as people seem to think."

After all is said and done, both parties should just move on and the Rockets org. better hope that the endorsement of the current players is enough to salvage their slightly torn image from other players around the league.

Well Hill has the same skill set...as Thomas...and in college displayed ability to be a go to guy AND had better overall stats than Tyrus. Every one knew with Ty that in NCAA he was just athletically better than everyone else...Hill was athlethic...but displayed a variety of finesse post moves and very good foot work.

I think Adelman and the staff can make Hill into a player. It's not like Tyrus is much taller than Hill also.

Ahh, thanks for the clarification. I thought usually the thread would still be visible but with the merge icon/symbol next to the title.

If the Knicks DO create enough room for two max contracts, I think LBJ or Wade will be going to Knicks. In that sense, Knicks should give Houston the unprotected 1st round pick the Rockets want.

Why would the Knicks do any favor for the Rockets????

This is a business, not a charity event.

I can't believe more folks would choose the Chicago trade over the New York trade. The Bulls offer would get us a first round exit in the playoffs this season.

The Knicks deal has us set up to compete next season, as well as rebuild quickly if Yao gets injured again next season. We would have a ton of expiring contracts and draft picks to use come 2011.

The Bulls deal is just for leverage. The only remaining question is the level of protection on the 2012 NY first round pick.

This deal will be legendary in 5 years. We are about to turn a non factor player into several of the pieces that will turn us into a perennial contender.

How does the Knicks deal set us up to compete next season? From where I'm sitting, it doesn't help us at all next season, unless you think Hill is going to turn into a superstar overnight.

The Chicago deal hinges on whether they offer us a first round draft pick, in my opinion.

The Knicks deal gives us the flexibility to resign lowry and/or scola plus the MLE to sign another rotation player.

Notice, I said "compete" not "contend"...next year we will see if Yao will stay healthy. If so, we can resign him and contend in 2011 and beyond...not to mention a playoff run next season if Yao returns to vintage form.

If not, we can let Yao walk (or retire) after next season and rebuild quick, with Yao, Battier, and Jeffries expiring...along with multiple first round picks in 2012.

It is a tough choice for us. Do we want draft picks and a long deal of useless Jeffries? Or do we want only expiring contracts which will give us at leat a chance to sign FA during the summer?

But I'd love to see Tracy playing alongside Rose. It would be fun!
