Hill is a low risk, high reward. I watched a few minutes of the Bulls-Knicks game and he was pretty terrible on offense. Missed a put back and bricked a couple of free throws. The real value here is the 2012 pick, and swapping 2011 1st rounders.

One year at 7 million won't kill the Rockets. They likely wouldn't have been far enough under the salary cap to do anything other than use their MLE anyway, and it was unlikely that they would be able to sign a free agent they like using their cap-space. Before, their two major options were sign-and-trade, or bringing back the same team + Yao + an MLE signing. The same options are still in play.

What else should they ask for? It is ok for a trade to benefit both sides. The Rockets don't have to "rape" the Knicks, and if they attempt to do so by making crazy demands that could hurt their reputation around the league.

What sort of parameters could they be?

Can it be anything other than unprotected or lottery-protected?

best case, yao comes back and avg 20 -10, worst case, yao is the next Z.

either way, he won't be the player he was before he broke his foot, he will always have problems with it.

we need some players. serious players. we can't win with AB or Landry being the man, they're a sixth man on a serious contender at best.

I would say so but I think that if it's no more then top 5 protected both sides would be fine with it.

You write this to some poster and follow it up with this

    That's pretty hypocritical.

Look dude, it's one thing to have an opinion, but you made a pretty outlandish prognostication. People will jump on you when you make crazy predictions that don't make sense.

Anyhow, do you understand that if the Rockets get Brad Miller and Tyrus Thomas and keep them, then they're going to lose Scola and Kyle Lowry? Do you understand that if they do the Knicks trade, they can keep Scola and Lowry, and have 4 more assets (draft picks, draft rights, Jeffries, and Hill) to package down the line to get a better player or build? It's about flexibility and adding value. The Bulls trade is too much of a JVG era decision which hampered the Rockets for years with the likes of Rick Brunson, Clarence Weatherspoon, Charles Oakly, David Wesley, and Mark Jackson. You don't risk it all for the playoffs this year if you severely laden the team with less talent and inflexibility for the future.

Hill will play better for the Rockets. Mark my words...quote it whatever...he's going to show up for this team.

The pole should have a 3rd option for neither. Why is everyone getting hyped up over a C-rate trade? Sucks for Tyrus too, once he comes he'll be crucified by his 3rd game. Why don't we do a sign and trade for Amar'e (if possible) or a good trade like iggy and Dalembert?

It's down to Knicks and Bulls and decision coming Wednesday. That much we know. Can HOU and NYK come to consensus on picks? If so, deal
