    14 or higher.

you don't understand the point of betting? It's not that complicated. "put your money where your mouth is"

There is a difference between sucking and not playing much. But I think you are starting to get it: Producing in college does not guarantee productivity in the NBA, not producing in college guarantees a bust in the pros.

We have 3 first round picks (2 mid-firsts and a top 20 protected first), as well as Lowry and whoever else to trade. But it's definitely going to keep our team very shorthanded and somehow we still need to convince Dwight to stay. Imagine if we empty half our team and assets out to get Dwight, only to have in leave in a year... not to mention all the drama that comes with it.

Maybe they aren't willing to potentially be taking on a rental?

    Blazers don't have 2 top 10 picks, they have 2 top 11 picks (#6 & #11)

I'm almost sold on Drummond. He's young, he moves, he has talent. Then again, he's young. The Rockets know how to coach big men, assuming they have talent. Looking at it objectively, Heat and OKC are going to be on top for the next 2-4 years. Take the big guy, develop him, pass the Lakers and Mavs and Spurs on their way down, have a couple of playoff runs, and if Drummond plays out, compete for championships during his prime years. I'm still convinced the best way to a championship is through an elite big man. Let's get another.

No joke, Drummond is a beast. He is exactly who the Rockets need. If it takes both picks and Lowry then I say the deal is worth it. Sacramento would be much better off as well.

Lol YOU were the one pushing advanced stats.

Horford only played 5 min less than Drummond in his freshman year and even if you adjust them both to 40min, Drummond comes out on top. I was just trying to dispel you fact that advanced statistics points to Drummond being a definite bust. :p

About Kyle Lowry's tweet: if you look a little lower on Lowry's twitter feed, you will see a reference to doing Villanova's camp. I expect that's what he was talking about.

Getting Drummond, or somebody else with top-5 talent, would be absolutely awesome. The idea of trading all this for Dwight Howard, though, makes me sick. Is Morey really sure we can get him to sign with us? If not, we will have given up a damn good player, and then some. I don't see it being worth that risk. He'd better know what he's doing.

One mechanical hurdle keep in mind as far as a pre-draft night Dwight trade goes: The Stepien Rule, which says that at any moment, you cannot be without a guaranteed first round pick for both of the two years going forward.

The Rockets do not have a guaranteed 1st round pick next season since they owe their own pikc (lotto potected) to the Nets. They have the Dallas pick but it's protected. So, the Rockets must use a 1st round pick this season. They can trade the picks immediately after they are used, but cannot get make, for example, pre-draft trades that leave them without a 1st rounder going into draft night. This can be fixed, though. They can alway acquire a 1st rounder (even the 30th pick), or perhaps get Orlando's pick in return (19th overall).

It's great the Wizards traded for Okafor and NeNe. Otherwise they would havebeenlocks to take Drummond. The only team that stands in our way is the Nets. Any reports of them working out MKG or being interested in him?

Ok. I'll tip $10 for every pick higher than 15 Drummond is picked at. IOW, if he goes 8, I'll tip $70. And for every pick below 8 Drummond goes, you tip $10.

    Fair enough?

    Hence the point of betting.

I believe in the first thread i talked about betting with you it was he will fall out of the first round. In this thread you went with out of lottery and are now down to the 8th pick.... Lol

Yeah it'll be a shocker if he goes 3-4 picks lower than he's expected! Way to go out on a limb there!

If we get TWO top 10 picks and trade them for Dwight I might flip out or something...

That's just crazy...too much to risk for a player that may bolt ASAP.

I'd rather take Drummond and whoever else and hope one of them pan out.

I'll just put it like this. There is a better chance that Drummond will be a top 5 Center one day than Dwight staying in Houston. I just don't see it happening.
