I'm not a huge Arenas fan, but you're on crack.

i'm laughing at all the haters who thought we should trade tmac for a bag of chips (jermaine o'neal) and are ripping on the arenas for tmac proposal. like it or not arenas is a good scorer. I don't want him on the rockets, but he has talent. i love how you guys were demanding him to gtfo of houston and now somehow you value him higher than a player who is averaging 25 ppg on 43% (about what tmac would shoot if he were healthy) and 7.5 assists.

JO like tmac is expiring. Arenas' contract has 4 more years after this. The "haters" are laughing at you.

so basically you guys want jermaine just because he's expiring? why the hell would anyone do such a deal? we want talent back for mcgrady, not a gigantic expiring contract when we can just hold on to mcgrady and sit him for insurance money. it makes no sense. if you want to trade for other expirings at least trade for 2-3 smaller contracts that are easier to trade, possibly in a multi-team deal.

No, I also want talent, but if I had to choose between the two of them, I'd take JO over Arenas because his talent isn't worth his contract risk. I don't care about the insurance money, so I wouldn't mind JO over tmac. JO would contribute more than tmac will this season without hampering the cap for future seasons.

disagree, jo is just as big an injury risk as tmac and he's not a good player (dont let the stats fool you). i'd rather keep chuck/scolandry playing most of the f-c minutes. and seriously, you want to pay a guy 23m dollars or whatever the prorated amount is just so he can block some shots?

My god Arenas does have a bad contract but some of you are acting like he is a scrub? 3rd string? AB wishes he was as good as Arenas, who was a legit franchise player before his injury.

Not saying i want him, but it does mean teams are willing to offer up talent for Mcgrady, we won;t have to take Eddy Curry...

and tmac is worse than an injury risk, tmac isn't playing for us anymore. Like I already said it's not my money, and JO's contract doesn't hurt the team's ability to acquire new players in the future any more than tmac's contract.

I don't like either Arenas or JO, but if given a choice I'd take JO. Why? Because his contract is expiring, he's a big, and if by some miracle he's willing to resign for peanuts we'd have an above average backup PF who can moonlight as a C.

If you get Arenas, you're basically saying he's gonna be the one guy who's gonna lead us to the championship, his contract means we won't get any other guys. Do you think Arenas can beat out Kobe, LBJ, KG, Duncan and Howard?

We're not even getting into the fact that for a max player he's a defensive liability, and more importantly his game most probably won't mesh with Yao.

God I hope that PHX rumor is true. J-rich would be perfect for this team.

I agree with you, Luis. The last thing i want us to do with the team playing so well and in such good shape for the future is to take on a horrible contract for an injury prone player like that

Wouldn't insurance only cover games missed due to injury not the games missed due to a disagreement with management?

Arenas would have to come with a Center...Wiz have plenty of decent guys to add in.

The problem with Arenas is that he changes the whole dynamic of the team. Sure, he's better than Lowry or Brooks. But he also forces you to likely trade Brooks, likely for a discount. So unless there's major talent coming in IN ADDITION to Arenas, he doesn't really make the team better. Because you're just kicking Brooks to the curb. And you have to adjust your offense to a player who needs the ball and is injury prone.

And this is even before considering his sizable contract and years left.

If we didn't have Brooks, I would have taken this trade.

Agreed, I'd rather Stephon Marbury his ass for the rest of the year than give the **** eyed b*stard what he wants.
