I just have a hard time believing that Morey will give up very much for Dragic if the Rockets aren't planning to keep Dragic past this year. Many people think Dragic will get a very large offer from someone. Is Morey willing to pay Dragic more than he refused to pay for Parsons?

He might be 7 feet tall but he plays like a 6'10" guy.

This is the team I want below. So whatever draft picks, overseas prospects and combination of other teams to add to our own players being traded, just get 'er done Morey:

    G. Dragic/D.J. Augustine/N. Johnson
Harden/Martin/Z. Dragic (add Allen in this spot if it makes you feel better)
    Ariza/Brewer/R. Allen
    DMo/Smith/Jones
    Howard/J. O'Neal/O. Okafor

Gives us a real championship run this year, and keeps our flexibility options open going forward.

I agree with you, DMo is better as a PF. But if we trade DMo for Dragic, who will play center for us while Dwight is out? We would have nobody over 6'9 active on the team for around 2 months. I don't think we can survive like that.

Question is does Dragic want to come here to play a secondary role to Harden and have the ball less in his hands as opposed to going to some other place where they guarantee him to be the primary ball handler?

Dragic is not worth the max but my feeling is he will demand the max esp with teams like Lakers who have cap space and in need of a PG for the future.

The question will be if he wants a chance at winning more than he wants a chance at being the primary ball handler all the time. He can't have both.

    What?

If Dragic wants to win, he will absolutely have to accept playing in a secondary role, he's just not good enough to carry a team into the playoffs being the primary star. Even with the Lakers, Kobe is not yet retired, and Dragic is only getting older. He'd have to play second fiddle until Kobe retired, and then have to go through a rebuild with the Lakers and by the time they would be competitive Dragic would be washed up.

dragic will be handling the ball. thats the point of getting a top tier pg. they do their job and thats handle the ball and run the offense, especially one that is capable of making plays for others. it simply means harden doesn't have to handle the ball as much as he already does. he basically has to play both pg/sg by default. harden will still be a dominant scorer, he just now has legitimate backcourt mate to ease the load which will be very much needed. harden in straight attack mode without having to worrying about handling the ball for the team makes him even more dangerous than he already is.

You honestly think kobe bryant will let dragic be the primary ballhandler?

Let's see....go with the aging superstar that's an egomaniac, and can't admit he's not elite anymore. Never did want to pass anyways...

Or go with the rising superstars in the league, that is one of the most willing passers in the league?

48-34 for the suns last season in the west without bledsoe half the season was very much impressive with Dragic leading the way. Especially on that suns team

Sick of morons like you who say Kobe doesn't pass. 5 apg for his career for a shoot first SHOOTING GUARD is pretty damn solid.

Yes because Parsons would have held our cap space from getting a 3rd star, Dragic + Ariza is enough to be a "3rd star" and Dmo has developed this year too.

Also there isn't a 3rd star sitting on the market available, Love is likely not coming here, and other than that pretty slim pickings.

D-Mo's value is not just as a substitute for Howard. Remember, the rotation that was shaping up was both Howard and D-Mo starting.

I, also, don't think it makes sense to trade Capela before giving him a chance to develop. Until there seems to be a solid return of Howard. Smith is not a rim protector like Howard. Neither is D-Mo for that matter. Capela might develop into such. Trade him away before he's gone through some growing pains and it might be a big regret down the line. Despite his other shortcomings, he does seem to have a knack for blocking shots. Put on some weight and he might be much better than average as a center. The other adjustment then has to be made in the head. You have to start "playing" with the extra weight. Timidity can be hard to overcome. Sometimes it is one's nature.

No matter what rumors come out in the next week about trades the Rockets might make, I think they might be looking at the trees and missing the forest, if they give up D-Mo -- or even Capela.

The crying need right now is just plain old scoring. If the Rockets were making their 3-pointers as desired they might not suffer the last 2 losses. Between missed 3-pointers and missed layups/chip shots around the basket, they are putting more pressure on their defense to make stops. That hasn't been as good lately, either. Even with a Dragic, their "system" would still be to try to create open 3's. The shooters would still be the same with Dragic. A missed 3 on one end and make on the other is a 5-6 point swing. A couple of dry possessions can easily lead to a quick "hole." If we define a turnover as a lost possession, missed shots are, bottom line, also turnovers. Does Dragic's scoring make up for missed 3's? That is debatable.

...OR use a different criteria and say anyone shooting less than 70% FT's is on the block.

I think these "rumors" "Rockets pursuing..." are funny. Given that Morey is talking to other GM's all the time about possibilities, it can be said "Rockets pursuing (fill in the blank) at almost any point in the season. It just happens to fit the need for a type of headline at this time of year and the deadline forces decisions to be made.

Kobe is done and everyone knows that.

It's really come down to if Morey believes Goran is the final piece of the puzzle and is willing pay him the max. Goran will get a max from somewhere and he will go for it. If Morey ships out significant assets for Goran and he walks in the off season, it will a big blow to Rockets, especially with concerns about Howard's health.

Getting Dragic would most likely extend the playing life of Harden. Add to that those gaps that happen when Harden sits should disparate.

If the rockets get Dragic then Harden will be the anti christ for opposing teams in the playoffs.
