This Lakers offering the max story would seem to dampen his trade value. Who knows what reality is... That said he probably is a max player with the new cap coming in after next season.
I am misinformed, I am certain, regarding trade rules and salary matching, etc. But does T Jones, Canaan, and the NO pick match up at all for Gogi? Papa would have to step up until Howard comes back to keep us in the running but offensive output should improve.
No doubt in my mind that Morey gives him a max deal if he trades for him. It's time to go all in as long as we can retain Smith and Brewer as well. Dragic/Bev/Cannan Harden/Johnson Ariza/Brewer DMo/Smith Howard/Plumlee/Dorsey
It's still about the money... A trade has to go down to acquire him no matter what. Too many teams still desire his services. Why would any player, especially Dragic, not consider the business proposition first?
because he would likely be stuck in a losing situation from the teams that need a starting pg, other than houston
It doesn't hang as low, but has more weight to it. It's more like the Josh Smith of my nuts... But it's available for trade.
got to trade out at least around 6M so either add shved+johnson or kpap to your suggested package. rockets won't want to hit luxury tax territory, so more salary out.
Exactly. Does he really want to be in a losing situation in LA or chitty team in the east with ZERO chance of winning? It's a real question. Because we are the closest thing to championship he's gonna get a offer from.
This is perfect for us. 1 year rental and we see if he works out. If not we dump his contract and can sign multiple free agents this summer. We give up nop pick and a couple players.
People keep drafting 7 footers in the top half of the draft just hoping they will develop, your lessor Lopez's, Plumlee's, Zeller's and Kanter's and rarely do they grow to effect a team's success. Dmo is getting there at 24. He effects the game now, and he's getting better. The league’s median player last season was 6 feet 7 inches tall, and paid about $2.5 million for his service. But consider the rarified air of the 7-footer-and-up club. The average salary of those 35 NBA players: $6.1 million. http://www.forbes.com/sites/dandiam...-tall-the-fastest-way-to-get-rich-in-america/ Given the worst D12 scenario's, he can be your Center. If you lost him, you'd have a hard time coming up with another 7 footer that can play.
I don't think D-Mo's a true center. He's a PF that can slide over to center for stretches. Playing him at center is fool's gold given the bigger 7-footer's will push him out the paint while dominating boards. If we had a DeAndre Jordan playing next to him, then it's a different story. But D-Mo at center won't result to much success. See Portland game we lost
