Ordinarily I would agree, but with what ammo? Their bench is absolute garabage, no picks to speak of, and they can't sacrifice a starter. Also, with having to pay rondo, and probably ellis (assuming he opts out) this offseason, won't have enough for dragic.
bringing back NOVAK? ME LIKE! - but I dont see Utah giving up Kanter for Plumlee, a 2nd and Papa -- I am sure there is a team out there that will offer a first for Kanter.
I want this to happen! If anything, because I like the idea of having a cool nickname for our backcourt.
Don't be so sure. Morey has, in the past, traded wins today to move closer to a championship in the future. I think one of Motiejunas or Jones is on the table with the pick, and Phoenix is playing hardball and asking for a bigger haul. Hence, the delay in getting a deal worked out. Morey probably isn't willing to give more, and Phoenix is hitting up the phones to see if anybody will beat our offer. Think of what Phoenix's upper management has said they wanted. They said themselves that they were backcourt heavy and needed to balance their roster by adding a scoring presence inside who could rebound, as well.
If we somehow got green and plumlee and dragic I would be pretty impressed. Or dragic + green or dragic + plumle.
even if it's a half season rental, you do it if you can keep D-Mo similar to the Astros trading for Randy Johnson
Dragic has low trade value. Unrestricted free agent, ineligible for a contract extension, and with half the league with cap space. Now it's been leaked the Lakers will offer him the max... that's even lesser returns for them.
Nah. Kanter will take the QO. Utah would take this deal and run. His agent came out yesterday and said that Kanter is the most dominant big man of his generation...You can only imagine what he wants to be paid..
I need Bima to let us know what the cap situation is going forward if the Rockets trade for Dragic this year and how signing him again after this season affects the roster and cap situation. What does it mean in terms of keeping Smith, Brewer, etc. I really don't know what the deal is with any of that right now.
My goodness at people including DMo in the trade. Pleasssse stop. Dragic value isn't that high for us to include Dmo . I bet we can get him for pel 1st plus filler or worst case tjones
I would trade DMO for Dragic. The rocket are not really using him. But I rather trade Ariza, Beverly, Jones, and NOLA pick for Dragic and Green, if possible.
Yup, Dragic is going to go for the most money possible period. Also the Lakers floating that they would pay the max for Dragic could be good for the Rockets, because there is no way in hell Phoenix is dropping 5 years at the max for a 29 year old point guard.
If, God forbid, Howard is done, Motie is your Center. Why on Earth would the Rox entertain trading him with Howard out? Can someone give the a quick Bima on how acquiring Dragic shapes the team/cap next year. I would certainly like to keep Josh Smith but I don't think both are possible. *eh, chart didn't work Player 2014/15 2015/16 2016/17 2017/18 2018/19 2019/20 Dwight Howard $21,436,271 $22,359,364 $23,282,457 $0 $0 James Harden $14,693,906 $15,719,062 $16,744,218 Trevor Ariza $8,600,000 $8,200,000 $7,800,000 Luis Scola $6,541,037 $0 $0 $0 $0 Jason Terry $5,450,000 $0 $0 $0 $0 $0 Kostas Papa $4,797,664 $4,851,769 $5,727,211 $0 Corey Brewer $4,702,500 $4,905,000 $0 $0 $0 $0 Alexey Shved $3,198,723 $3,998,408 $0 $0 $0 $0 Terrence Jones $1,618,680 $2,489,529 $3,532,642 $0 D Motiejunas $1,483,920 $2,288,205 $3,278,996 $0 Francisco Garcia $1,316,809 $0 $0 $0 $0 $0 Clint Capela $1,189,200 $1,242,720 $1,296,240 Jeff Adrien $981,084 Joey Dorsey $948,163 $1,015,421 Josh Smith $945,778 Patrick Beverley $915,243 $1,181,348 Ishmael Smith $915,243 Isaiah Canaan $816,482 $947,276 $1,215,696 Nick Johnson $507,336 $845,059 $980,431 $1,251,245 TOTALS: $74,517,002 $59,064,360 $48,807,106 $7,400,000
