Wow douchebag comment of the day. I can understand you being mad if he insulted your comprehension skills. I think that's stupid too. No need to start flaunting your accomplishments.

Thanks, J.R. for that long transcription.

I'm glad more and more people are appreciating the work that Harden has done this year.

Now after the ASB, we gotta get him some help. Morey, do your magic. This is it. Time to cash in on flexibility.

What I would give to get KD and DMC together with JH on one team? Maybe they started talking about banding together.

the suns wont give up dragic for expirings and picks... they want to make the playoffs. they'll want talent in return. i still think we have enough to get it done, but morey will cut off talks if the price gets too high.

dragic, rubio, lawson, knight would be ideal... but less likely. honestly, after seeing just how bad beverley is at passing and dribbling, almost any PG with those skills would improve our team.

george hill, jack, calderon are the more likely options that can still improve the team.

They wont have Bird Rights on Smith and will have to sign him with cap space , an exception or a vet min deal. They will have the MLE and I have to wonder if it would take all of it considering he wouldn't see much difference in his bottom line since Detroit is paying him the bulk of the $$.

They will have Brewers Bird Rights allowing them to exceed the cap to resign him .... He hasn't opted out yet either. Might not have to worry about it.

The new cap will be around 90. The new contracts that will be given this and especially next year are insane. A max this summer is a good price for Dragic as things have turned around and this is why the Suns may keep him in the end.
Right now Rubio and Lawson are pretty much even more valuable and untouchable than before. Knight is a good kid who values winning and has been treated well by the organisation but he will be completely stupid imo if he does NOT take the QO. He will lose a LOT of money if he is extended this summer and not the next.
Calderon imo is the best option right now since he's the most attainable. Doubt Indiana deals Hill since they want to make the playoffs and Jack will only be dealt if Nets manage to unload two of their big albatross contracts.

Dragic at $20 million per and being a nearly 30 year old PG is not an easily movable contract. Everything their FO has said over the last week seems to be pointing toward his departure.

The max for a 10 year vet will become around 5/183...

But even then, you're talking about 20%+ of your cap being tied up in an older PG that is not top 5 at his position.

If PHX signs Dragic to a big contract, they should assume that he's staying for the duration of that contract. Perhaps they are ok with that, but I don't think they are. They want their own version of James Harden......trading Dragic for a 1st gets them closer to that than resigning him to a big contract.

yes but Dragic is 28 and his game is projected to not fall off the cliff immediately as he turns 30. Plus if he is signed for like 19 million his contract WILL be ok and even good considering the others vet stars - near stars- will be paid over 30 per.
The 5 year max ROOKIE extension without the bonus will be 5/132.

He turns 29 in May, but that's really not the point. How does signing Dragic to that contract get them closer to a player like James Harden?

New CBA and salary cap and whatever, paying Goran Dragic 20 million per year, talented as he is, is kinda nuts.

    15 million, yes.

First of all the Harden case is not common. If they trade all their assets to get a up and coming young player and sign him to the max that player will be getting 25-26 million per and will be a gamble if he even turns to be a star.
Having a very productive near star player albeit older like Dragic signed to a good (for the new cba :/ ) 19 million per makes his contract an asset...
Unless Dragic falls off a cliff.

And Daryl Morey wanted Kevin Durant not James Harden, he also wanted Lebron, then Bosh. He even wanted to not have to pay a first round pick to jettison Lin's contract, and he wanted more than 1 draft pick for Asik.

People want stuff they can't get all the time

If Phoenix are determined to demand more than Dragic is worth, well no deal will occur and grats to the Lakers
