Manny, I think you meant to say Kenny with the double-double. That is even funnier. If that is best case, we are rockin'. btw: I'd recommend that no one pick Kenny for fantasy as they suggest. As optimistic as I am about him, on off nights, dude's only going to get 20 minutes. I am willing to bet that his minutes do not go up appreciably, and let's not forget that Mo' only got 28mpg last year. My bet is on 25-30mpg for Kenny. Those are not the best fantasy numbers. crash, that was a cool comparison. You lifted my spirits. It is hard for me to get a feel for these Rockets having only seen SF and CM once, and not Rice. I am still somewhat licking my vicarious sympathy wounds from the Mo' injury, and Willis only marginally makes me optimistic again, until I see him play. My big fear is Mobley not finding a new sure-fire midrange shot to use within the zones, Kenny overthinking and looking over his shoulder, and Griffin not quite ready out of the gate...and the zones learning how to deal with Francis....and most importantly, us losing our scoring punch in the last 2 minutes because of the zones. The zones were dead meet with Mo, Rice and SF, CM... damn, now I scared myself again...I'm going to have to go reread your post.
Lets just hope that Walt does not loose his shot this year for weeks on end and then we can put SF, Rice, CM and Walt on the floor to attack the zone. If Walt is on...look out!
All things correct or incorrect with the article, the big plus is Kelvin's new nick name "The Hallucination" is know known outside of Houston and published in the national media. WOO HOO. The Mullet is UNrool. This can only serve to further motivate Kelly.
heypee, Didn't see that thing on the side about KT. LOL! This was in the article of Stein's: Best Case Scenario Francis will make the All-Star team, Mobley and Rice will stay healthy and score freely, rookies Terence Morris and Oscar Torres will contribute immediately and The Hallucination will decide, just for fun, to live up to his $42 million contract and average a double-double. Best-case still only adds up to 40-something wins and maybe the No. 8 slot in a conference that shows no mercy. So if both KT and Cato average double-doubles, then we should have the best record in the league, right? crash: You pose a very good question..one that I can't figure out either about this Rockets team only winning 35 games in the worst case scenario compared to the team 2 seasons ago. It shows that these guys don't know anything about our team.
AS much as I love Rockets and want them desparately to win and at least get inot playoffs.......I beleive the following ..... There's a chance that our wins top 50 games (even though it is small)...and there's a small chance that we will win in 30s....but a great probability (80%) that we will win in the 40s. To get to 50s we probably have to have the following four things....... Health : Rice, Cato must and that Steve or Mobs dont go down with a major one Fit : That Rice and Girffin/Morris/Torres get inot the system Trade : We probably need another big body (even with Willis), so get something for Walt Mental toughness : This team will need to learn how (NOT to sleep through) to not fall behind in 1st quarter, win more thatn 50% of close games (less than 3 point differences types) and not have major offensive misfiring (like those when we fail to score for 5-7 minutes)[ We could land in 30s WIN if we fail to improve our home record, and Rice or Cato fail to show up and one of the bigies (Steve or Mobs) goes down with an injury AS I said either of this happening is a low probabliity... Getting to 45+ wins will get us 6-8th seed depnding on the actual number. I aslo think that 43 wins might be sufficient for a team to get to playoffs this year
"The #9 ranking is before we lost marc jackson. Now it will be different. I swear u guys are so whiny. Is it that important to you that espn gives us more respect. If we start winning more the respect will come, its just a matter of time." let's all kiss a little more espn ass, after all, they don't have to answer to anyone. They only give their own opinion which happens to always be right. Get real, espn can kiss our rocket a$$e$
you can go through player for player and try to come up with a ranking but what ESPN underestimates is our unmatched team chemistry and the mastermind we like to call rudy t. I'm ready for the playoffs!
How the hell are we whiny? It is apparent that all we are trying to point out is that ESPN shows favortism to certain media markets and shows no amount of consistency in their opinions or reports. To drop from #9 to barely having a chance to make the playoffs is ludicrous. Marc Jackson would not have been the difference in whether or not we made the playoffs. Not to mention, we now have acquired Willis who will bring just as much production to the team as Jackson would have.
I am rolling over this post...especially the first two sentences describing Ramsay and this "far off look in his eye". Dude describes Aldridge and Vescey with the best possible words ever. That's some pretty damn funny (and very true) s**t RocksMillenium
