Com'on, bashing a player is different than bashing a fan base. I don't care if you say "CB4 sucks", but saying Raptor fans are this and that is kinda silly... 1. Lebron 2. Yao 3. Chris Paul 4. Kobe Bryant 5. Dirk Nowitzki 6. Tim Duncan 7. Paul Pierce 8. Carmelo Anthony 9. Steve Nash 10. Carlos Boozer 11. Kevin Garnett 12. Josh Smith 13. Dwight Howard 14. Amare Stoudemire 15. Deron Williams 16. Baron Davis Going forward I would rather have any one these player ahead of T-back.........players who are a little too old but still worth more: Steve Nash/Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce.
I think people around here bash Raptors fans because of, well, you. It seems you're popping up around here to bash McGrady with every post. It's tedious. We get that you don't like him. Saying it 5,000 times in every imaginable thread won't convince people that you're right.
Maybe I'm being to general, but why would this team want a 9m pg with major health issues. Look, I like Ford alot , but like the thread I started weeks ago, I would rather go with Brooks and back him up with Dooling, Arroyo or even Alston. I don't see any team in the finals with a great pg. Why not give Brooks the start and deal with his pluses and minuses and keep our team in the james/wade/Bosh sweepstakes than to ruin it altogether with a guy like Kirk or TJ that will kill all chances of that. Parker had a chance to grow, why don't brooks. I've stated before, theres 3 or 4 big, post up pg in the the entire league. Why use that as the only reason for not giving a player with upside develop? There are quality backups availiable for decent money if that's the route, which should be the route in my opinion.
Far from unreal = plausible?? It's an option they could pursue for the future of their team. I guess it all depends if you think they value Jamario Moon more than the 33 year old Anthony Parker? By making a deal like that, they'd be dropping $24million in Ford's salary and only receiving back $10million in Rafer. Which would mean at the end of next season they'd have around 40million committed in salaries (Bosh, Alston, Kapono, Bargnani, Hayes, Calderon #25pick). Which leaves them in a strong position re: Moon and making a dash at a big name FA. Might not be a CHAMPIONSHIP move for them next season - but at WORST it brings in the depth (Head, Hayes, Alston) from a 55 win Western conference club for basically 1 average starter (Parker) and dropping 8 spots in the draft. Hayes would be a great addition for that club - since Bargnani is a softer 7' who operates 18' from the hoop, Hayes would be the perfect 'scraps man' around the basket. And Bosh certainly has the ability to operate away from the hoop as well. Gives him a rest on D too with Hayes taking the tougher big man matchup. If Head can't find his stroke in the playoffs, they can sub Kapono in. And Alston takes great care of the ball if nothing else! BJax - well, he'll expire I guess (MIGHT give Calderon a tip or 2 along the way) All that for the cost of a 33yr old 3pt marksman, an injured PG and a flip flop of 25 and 17?
What you read every post i make? I'm t tmac's biggest fan.....just a tad bit critical... don’t be so sensitive
Can't say you don't have a sense of humor! You're Tmac's greatest fan like John Wayne loved stomach cancer.
...............but our odds get better of having at least 1 of the 3 healthy at a time instead of 1 of 2 healthy. On a serious note, I am intrigued by this trade proposal. Parker would be the 3rd swingman/scorer we need to give us 30 minutes alongside TMac and Battier. And T.J. Ford......well, if he's healthy, he's a top 15 point guard easy.
kirk. The PG that fit in the most, in my humble opinion. Runs the half court offense well, provide size and defense, and able to shoot the 3p and FT at a nice %. Contract is dropping every year instead of raising, meaning more cap space every year. only player that fits in better will be deron/billups, but its not going to happen.
If we can get Ford without losing much, go for it. But Ford probably is not our answer in the west for starting PG. I like his speed, and aggression, but can he turn into a parker for us?
Ford's greatest asset is that he can dominate the ball and be relatively productive while doing so. TJ works on the Raptors because they don't have wings who dominate the ball, and their primary scorer is a guy who needs to be set up to some extent. On the Rockets, TJ would either be wasted (as TMac needs the ball in his hands to be effective), or hurtful to the offense (if you're going to have a guy dominate the ball, TMac is the much better choice). Hinrich to me would be a much better option, not only because he'd fit the offense damn near perfectly, but because he can be had for significantly less.
