    Yes

I think jordan hill will be a guy who flashes something that makes you go damn what a player, but ultimately it will just be flashes. We know what landry can do and he is consistent about it.

HELL NO, Jordan Hill is on a cheap contract, and has a lot better size and a ton of more upside than Landry.

Just because people can't be patient with a raw 2ND YEAR player, doesn't mean we should trade him..

If the Rockets do get Landry either Scola, Patterson or Hill is going to be in a follow-up trade.

Even if we get him back,he will ask for a Scola like contract to re-sign with us. That won't be helpful.

No, because 1) Hill is still on his rookie contract, but Landry will be a FA; and 2) we have a better version of Landry in Patterson.

I doubt if Morey will do this.

No way we let Patterson go. He's definitely a keeper.

But the thing is Jordan Hill is 23 yrs and Landry is 27. Hill is probably not even playing at his full potential, Landry has probably reached his limit or near his limit for development as a player.

He does fill one need. I recall he used to crash the Off boards in the 4th qtr and either put it back up or dish it out to someone. A clutch 4th qtr guy would be handy.

Yes, we score enough points, overall. But in a lot of late 4th qtr's, we get stuck.

Bringing Landry back, would be just plain stupid!

Specially for a team that is rebuilding, the guy is like two years away from 30 and will be looking to cash in this off-season...

    Just a simple, HELL NO!!

I remember a year ago when many posters were about to drink a bottle of bleach when learning that Carl Landry had been traded. I wasn't too thrilled, myself, although the genius of that trade was apparent (please, Morey, show you haven't lost the touch, but get someone who plays some G**DAMNED DEFENSE).

Deal is, Patterson looks to be all of Landry and more as a player. MAYBE he isn't quite the energy guy, MAYBE, but with such limited minutes, it's impossible to know.

So far this year, at power forward, we have Luis Scola / Chuck Hayes / Jordan Hill / Patrick Patterson / My Grandma.

Carl does fit in here with his defense, though. Whoops---"defense". It isn't so much that he's Martin/Scola awful. He just kinda has that one or two horrific lapses that allow the other team to win at the last second.

Still, I can't entirely blame Adelman or Morey for longing for Carl Landry. At least he brought hustle and energy, something sorely lacking from this moribund bunch. (On the flip side, like last year, it's tough as a player to bring it every day when the rotation is a coin flip and you have enough duplication that everyone knows a trade is probable.)

I'd bring him back only if we could send him out in another lop sided trade that nets us a 25 ppg scorer like Martin.

Can we just contract Sacramento and New Jersey and put all their players on the Rockets roster?

It would go something like this:

    Starters:
    Kyle Lowry
    Kevin Martin
    Tyreke Evans
    Luis Scola
    Brook Lopez

    Bench:
    Devin Harris
    Aaron Brooks
    Shane Battier
    Omri Casspi
    Carl Landry
    Jason Thompson
    Patrick Patterson

    Inactive:
    Derrick Favors
    Demarcus Cousins
    Jordan Hill

I was thinking the same thing. I doubt Broussard actually has sources inside the Rockets organization.

I do think it's possible if the Rockets make another move (big move) to deal off Scola, Patterson and/or Hill.

I wouldn't and there are various reason why not, but it really starts and ends with Landry being an unrestricted free agent after this season.

If a big trade were to happen that would move out a roation big or two, I'd also rather just sign a cheap big prospect (e.g. Jeff Adrien) than trade for Landry.

If the first part of your scenario is true (Scola is traded) then Yes I do trade Hill straight up for Landry. Landry instantly becomes our best 4th quarter go to guy. Scola IMO has peaked. I love the guy's hustle and he is the perfect PF if you have a defensive rebounding big next to him (Not Chuck Hayes). But on this team he is a liability. He will never be better and he makes us weak in the 4th. That is why Landry finished games last year.

Si if we can improve this team by trading Scola I am all for it. And if we can get Landry back in the process, count me in.

P.S. I think Favors can definitely play Center in this league. Much better than Hill ever will that is for sure. If we have to trade Scola and some other piece to get him I am all for it.

Agreed, but you can get him for free as an unrestricted free agent, why trade anyone for him this year, we aren't going anywhere anyway.

Would trade for Carl and include Hill only if it were part of a larger deal getting us a defensive athletic 5.
