I like Ron because he atleast brought some toughness to our team.

I can't stand watching our soft ass players bend over and get railed.

With Ron and Landry, I felt like we always had a chance.

Throw Martin and Nene in there and maybe we really would have a chance.

Again, the only way you could possibly take back Ron is If we had other deals in place to be an immediately contending team. Imagine If we had Martin against the Lakers back in the day...

Nope. Basketball isn't a one way street. He can score all he wants but that doesn't change the fact that he gets burnt on defense by everyone he guards. He can't play D. Name one team that has won a championship in the past decade or so where the highest scorer can't play D. I'll wait.

I wouldn't trade Patterson for Landry because I think that deal is pretty much even. Patterson could be the new Landry and I like his hustle.

But I would trade Hill for Landry in a heartbeat.

He provides a better defensive presence than Landry does and has a much better mid-range jump shot, perfect for running pick-and-pops. He hasn't gotten many opportunities in game to show his post moves, but the majority of his baskets in the d-league were from playing post, so I trust he has an existent post-game. And Patterson is a better rebounder. Maybe not a better free throw shooter yet, but he's shown he can shoot the basketball; the free-throw shooting consistency will come with confidence and time.

Still not getting what drastic difference Landry would bring to this team that would justify spending millions more on him than we are for Patterson.

Why trade Hill for 6-9 Landry when we have 6-9 Patterson & 6-9 Scola? We need to package Hill for a center. I'd rather have Dalembert than Landry at this point.

The Rockets could probably get both Dalembert and Landry with the right package going back.

Carl Landry is equally as good as Chuck Hayes when it comes down to offensive boards, if not better. 2nd chance points matter DD. Maybe it would be a moral boosting trade. Rockets have been below .500 since the K-Mart trade on this team.

We don't need Landry is my point. We already have too much redundant talent at the 2/3 positions. Why create the same exact problem at the 4? There are not enough minutes to go around for 6-9 Scola, 6-6 Hayes, 6-9 Patterson and 6-9 Landry. We need a shotblocking center and perhaps a young 6-8/6-9 defensive stopper sf to groom/stash in the D-league to eventually replace what Shane brings us. Think Stanley Robinson. As much as I loved Landry, we do not need him anymore. Patrick Patterson > Carl Landry.

Didn't see this posted. Find this on Yahoo when I was looking to pick him up. (I opted for Al Harrington)

F Carl Landry is drawing interest from the Trail Blazers, with sources saying there have been talks between the teams. One scenario is Landry, a key reserve, going to the Blazers for a first-round pick and cash considerations. The Kings would not comment on it, however.
    (Yahoo! Sports)

A first rounder for a potential rental is too much imo.

Especially for one that is going to help them rebuild in the near future.

I think it would be Great if the Rockets trade a combination of Yao, Jeffries, Ish, and or other incentives for Landry, a Defensive Center(Nene/Okafor/Gortat/Dalembert/Etc.), and an Elite Player (Carmelo/CP3/Nash/Etc.).

Rockets need another Defensive Center to Support Hayes, Hill needs More Consistency and or Experience. Landry will help the Rockets WIN however he will likely see less minutes due to the other Rox forward's on the roster.

Despite Ish's long term potential, I wouldn't mind trading Ish as part of the above package or equivalent as Ish would Benefit from NBA playing time/experience. If the Rockets do get CP3 or Nash, then Brooks would need to play as a SG (his natural position) and or play less minutes, whatever helps the Rockets WIN.

If I had to trade Lowry or AB as part of the above package which included CP3 or Nash, then I would do it.

Even if the Rockets don't land an elite point guard that's still ok because Lee and T-Will can play emergency point guard minutes without Ish.

If Carmelo (a Small Forward) is part of a deal with Landry and a Defensive Center then I wouldn't mind parting with Lee or Bud.
