I would take Croshere for Taylor in a hearbeat.

Croshere would provide the hustle and toughness that Taylor lacks.

Face it Griffin is the future there, and a combo of Griffin and Taylor with Crosheres versatility thrown in is a much better situation for the Rocks.

If Indiana's offering the Croshere from that playoff series a few years back, I'll take it. But I don't think they hold his rights. Croshere's a hustle player. I like him. But he's streakier than the Blizzard, and we're letting him go for nothing. I'll take Mo over Austin and I just plain don't want Russell. I don't care how much he'd help us. I'd rather stand pat than do any of the deals suggested in that article.

But I do appreciate the props from ESPN. What's up with them taking us seriously? Don't they know Jeff, et al, got the Rockets an arena and they're staying in Houston?

I'd do Mo for Austin so fast that neither would have time to pack a duffel bag before getting on the plane. Austin fits Rudy's style of coaching better than MoT. I'm not saying that Mo isn't any good...but in a different system. Gotta play to your strengths.

Mo may never fully recover to previous form, but 'Nique did recover well from his torn achilles and came back to have some productive seasons.

    Damn, you stole my thunder!

But, for the Lewis deal, I get the feeling he may be referring to Seattle's 'exploration' of S&T deals for Lewis. They don't want to do an S&T, so they call Dallas with a ridiculous demand: 2 of Nash, Nowitzki or Finley. They get laughed at and then call the Rockets with something equally ridiculous: Eddie Griffin plus some other guys, but no albatrosses. Then, they go back to Lewis and say, "We gave it our best shot but they don't want you that bad apparently, jerk."

Finally, on Chroshere/Taylor, he makes no sense. Escaping a potential medical disaster is one thing. But, he's saying that Taylor is expendable because Griffin is the future power forward and Thomas is a very capable backup. If that's the case, why trade a power forward for another power forward?

    Sonics want Griffin for Lewis

    Chad Ford of ESPN writes:

Just when things couldn't get any better, the Sonics and hometown boy Rashard Lewis start fighting, and now the Rockets are in the hunt to make another huge free-agent acquisition. But fate won't stay on their side forever. Rockets team sources indicate that their only real chance of landing Lewis is through a sign-and-trade deal. The Sonics want second-year phenom Eddie Griffin as part of any deal. Even with Griffin in the deal, the Sonics are balking on the inclusion of players, such as Taylor, who are in the last year of their contracts. If Lewis can't get a sign-and-trade, he'd opt for the Mavericks' mid-level exception over Houston's. In other words, don't count on Lewis playing for the hometown fans next season.

No, no, not Griffin. Cato or Mo OK, but not Griffin. Uh uh.

Mo for Croshere? Odd, that...isn't it?

Chad Ford has had some ridiculous fix-up suggestions for other teams (like trading Atlanta's jason terry), but I think he got it right for the Rockets.

    1. I like the Croshere and Russel additions. What I like about them is that both have been to the Finals, know the pressure cooker and have made some big shots. We don't have such players on the roster. Plus, what are we giving up? MoT and some of our MCE. MoT has some skills but he's basically a slob. Plus, he's not a good match with Ming. Griffin will benefit from Ming, Kenny will benefit from Ming, I can even see Cato and Ming in a 9/11 (Twin Tower, sorry, bad joke) lineup, but I can't see Ming and Taylor to coexist.

    2. The idea of bringing in Ming slowly is right and well-accepted.

    3. The point about who do we play the veterans or the rooks is also pretty valid.

Supersonics management is just bein a bunch of foos, plain and simple. First they ask for 2 of Nash, Finley and Nowitzki knowing full well that Lewis prolly isn't worth any ONE of those players and then they want Griffin for Lewis. Sure Sonics, no prob. Any chance we could get you to send us Brent Barry also? Seriously, we'll give you any two of Franchise, Mobes, and Yao for him. Right guys? :)
