Nash will make Rockets offense up to another level. And our defense isn't going to suffer much because Brooks is not known for his defense either.

Don't forget the rumors have already started in February. Meaning Houston is actively interested.
I hope we don't need to give up Brooks or Lowry for him because I believe that he will leave for the Knicks in 2010 so we would be buuuuuusted!

Barbosa is still in his prime, and Nash is an expiring contract. It makes us much improved offensively in the short term, and we're not saddling ourselves with bad contracts. I don't think the Suns would go for it, but I can't see the Rockets passing up on it.

I don't really see a good fit in a deal with PHX to be honest, unless they are eager to dump Jason Richardson as well. Otherwise I don't see a good salary fit between the two teams that really benefits PHX in a way that couldn't be topped by someone else.

Nash hasn't lost a step. He's looking like one of those rare players who continue at their peak until they call it quits. He only needs to play on for 2 or 3 more years at that level and to be worth it.

Nash wants an extension, and you can bet that Mr two time MVP will want the max. I don't think giving max contracts to players his age is a wise idea no matter how talented they are.

I don't know that I want Nash @ $13M when I have Brooks and Lowry at a combined $3M. Especially since Nash doesn't fit into a halfcourt (Yao) offense all that well. He needs a running team, and we have a limited number of runners. Plus, that back is a time bomb.

I'd maybe do it if it gets rid of McGrady, but I don't see a 2-team trade working out that way. Cook & Battier would be the probable move, and I'm not really good with that.

But what will be will be.

We are talking about starting Aaron Brooks at PG next year. Defense at the position isn't going to be good either way.

What thing about Nash is that he is efficient from every spot on the floor and you can not sag off of him. He might not put up 10 assists with us but we will be very efficient.

We need to consider future implication?

Why do people think Nash doesn't work in a half court system?

    Yeah, NO.

How about McGrady for Nash+Barbosa because of salaries?

I'd like to keep Brooks, thanks.

Brooks and Mcgrady for Shaq and Nash????????

Solves the back-up center situation and Nash can get the ball to Yao maybe?????

For real, it's not like Brooks is a elite defender. Our core defensive guys are Battier, Artest and Yao. Nash won't hurt too much there.

With Nash, Tmac becoms truely expendable.

I said Nash struggled to play with Shaq. Not Shaq struggling to play with Nash. Throughout his whole career Steve Nash has played in an uptempo system. He struggled when Shawn Marion was traded and it took and is still taking him a while to adjust.

Nash is a friend of Yao....i have no doubt he wants to be a Rocket. Morey should make this trade work. Nash will make the Rockets very lethal. His shots are like automatic.

Someone said teams are going to kill us with Nash Yao pick n roll. But what about Brooks?? He couldn't have done any better than Nash as far as defense. So no worry!

There is no way the Rockets will do this. Nash has been on the decline, him at current level will not be able to raise the Rockets into the elite team.

The Rockets' move will largely depend on TMac's status. If he can come back healthy AND the Rockets wants to keep him, then the Rockets will be a contender next year, all they need are a veteran backup PG and backup center. If TMac cannot come back healthy, then the Rockets probably will use his contract to continue their rebuilding.

In any case, I don't see the Rockets brings Artest back.

Keep in mind we don't HAVE to give up Brooks in a potential trade for Nash. We could do McGrady and someone like Lowry or Battier or Landry or whoever else. Brooks and Nash would be a duo that you could even play at the same time with Brooks at the two guard.

The other thing to look at is Yao has maybe 2-3 years in his prime left. If you wanna win a title with Yao, you have to go for it while you have the chance. Shaq's career turned around playing with Nash. Nash would make Yao much better because he'd be able to get Yao more easy baskets than he usually gets. A great point guard makes the game easier for the rest of the players on offense.

The downside is that Nash is 35, so you're basically salvaging some of your future (if you trade Lowry or Landry or whoever) to win right now. Yao/Nash/Artest/Brooks/Scola is a good core to go after a title.
