Please Morey say "F--- NO" to Steve Nash even if they throw the entire buffet of Suns players at you. After such an awesome season and the emercence of our young players, the last thing we need is a Mark Cubanish mortgage everything for one shot at the title. Aaron Brooks is becoming a solid PG and will run this team for years to come. The success we had this year was due to Morey finding gems in the draft, via trades and free agency. The system is in place, Moreyball is winning right now. Don't just get up and abandon your position at the table because you feel its either WIN BIG or Bust. Nope progress is always made in increments. This year we finally put to rest the uncertainty about our PG and PF positions that not too long ago were occupied by the like of Stromile Swift and Mike James. The basketball gods are blessing us with an infusion of talent, skills and depth.

    Obvious needs in offseason:

Bigman to backup Yao: I would love to see Shaq as a Rocket,

Another scorer who can take over the game at anytime (sorry tracy): Caron Butler, Tmac for D-Wade (do it morey), steven Jackson

    See: Boston.

Coincidentally, the very place that Moreyball was born...hmm.

You said it yourself in your first sentence.

"best PG of the last decade."

I'll some up and coming talent from this decade then someone in their declining years.

Nice idea. Let Yao, Tmac,Artest,Scola, Battier all go over 30 just to develop a poor man's Steve Francis.

The "up and coming talent" is a dime a dozen in NBA. The "best PG in last decade" still is a rare commodity

How much longer before Nash breaks down? I give him 1 -2 years max.

This was his first year to start. He beat the Lakers in game 4 by himself.

As additional support, We can look at the previous years.

Spurs. Who went from lotto to championship with Duncan.

    Heat. Traded for Shaq.

Pistons. Overhauled their team with Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Billups and Hamilton.

The real Francis beat many teams " by himself " in his rookie year. And people were crying out loud for a PG after several years of his SG in a PG body play.

Francis at his peak will be much better than AB in his peak, from telent level.

I can't believe some people here don't want this to happen. They think AB is the next Tony Parker or the next C. Paul.

If you want to win in the next 1 or 2 years, you do it. Who care about a future if all you can do is make the playoff and exit 1st and 2nd round? AB is just a scorer with no playmaking that will make his teammates better. Nash give you a deadly scorer and a playmaker. Age is not a problem with Nash. Are people brain dead and forgetting how old John Stockton play until he retired???? Nash is not that type of players that jump and dunk and wore down his body.

Because I'd rather be average for the next 1-2 years, and then be great in 2010 or 2011.

look what Dallas did with Kidd. ya thats working out really well for them. NOT

A PG needs to get assists, something Brooks hasn't shown he's capable of. Do we really need a guy who at his best will probably be a very poor man's Allen Iverson? We found him late in the first round, you don't think Morey can find another PG?

I would trade McGrady, Scola, and Brooks for Nash and Stoudemire. Nash is the kind of guard who can flourish in Adelman's stystem and has the experience we need for a contending team. Stoudemire becomes our starting PF and if Yao goes down he's our starting Center and Landry becomes the starting PF. So many problems solved in one trade, I love it.

Here is a lineup that I would like to see in the future for the Rockets

    PG: Ty Lawson
    SG: Ron Artest
    SF: Shane Battier
    PF: Chris Bosh
    C: Yao Ming

    That is possible salary wise.
