wade does have a film crew

and for the record is wade is set on trying to bring bosh and lebron to miami or at least one of them why is he talking to other teams and all

miami is in a way getting jerked around in this too and same with some of the other teams.

i wonder what would happen if miami struck out on everyone including wade somehow. all that space teams would be willing to dump all their bad contracts to them quickly.

I think DD just posted this question in the chat...

John, not sure if you're familiar with European basketball but the Greek Vasilis Spanoulis that was on Houston for a litte is a free agent. I think he will be a great combo guard off the bench for one of the teams with cash. Any interest for European players in this Free Agency

    LOL

Take a breath young man. If they need a trade exception to get Collison we can give them that just be giving them less in salary then they are sending. 2.6 million less which is more than enough to cover collison. If what you were saying was true it would mean they want to dump Okafor and probably would do so by throwing Collison and maybe getting back a first round pick and Ed Davis. That would allow them to save big.

I could see Toronto wanting to do that and refusing to sign and trade with Houston for those reasons. But the fans don't know jack so if your source is the fans then you are a fool for believing.

After reading some of your other I have to say you are all over the place. You have some interesting posts albeit full of ****.

So the Rockets will be offering more money than Miami or Chicago? That's big news. For Morey to be able to add higher pay to Houston's other selling points is fantastic, and improves our chances. The odds Bosh picks Houston are still slim, but this is encouraging.

It'd be nice if Morey could actually sell those points to Bosh and his agent, they STILL havn't had a real meeting yet right?

    Bosh:

"I don't film my meetings," said Bosh on Twitter. "I am a professional. Having control of your own media is a distraction, but when other networks do it, it's not?"

We don't mind your documentary Chris. Come to Houston and we'll all help film it.

Can someone explain to me why a 16M TE is better than a package of good players + picks + expirings? I have seen many teams let their TE expired without getting anything.

In theory it offers potential, but like you said, in reality, it usually doesn't work that way. I don't think any team really wants a massive TE. That's just an angle Chicago/Miami and agents of players who want to go to CHI/MIA are pushing to the media because that's about the only credible thing they have to offer.

I am not positive but i believe TEs cannot be broken and making this assumption based on that the TEs must remain whole

a trade exception could be used by itself to acquire another player but one of that size would mean getting back a near max FA themselves or getting back an overpaid player.

i doubt toronto can get a max FA for nothing or will want a overpaid player

smaller TEs around 8-10 million are more valuable since there are several quality players being paid around that mark that you can get to help your team. Of course without that star it may not mean much though.

the problem with expirings is that you still are paying for that player for that year. I would believe in any deal if Houston does send Battier/Jeffries they may also send enough buyout money so that player gets bought out and hopefully (if its battier) returns to the Rockets.

it will be interested i wish it was over already though good or bad news so at least Morey can go to one of his backup plans

I'm pretty sure you can get two players with a single TPE, but they have to be from the same team because you're making one trade. So there's definitely no cutting of a big TPE into smaller ones for the sake of getting multiple players. I also don't think Toronto would be looking at FA with such an exception. But rather use it to pry a star under contract.

Morey's a smart guy, so I'm sure he can find creative ways to make up the salary. Something like giving them our 15th roster guy with non-guaranteed contract + $3 mil for conditional 2nd round pick.
