At least Astros are mentioned as suitors of Tejada....this is from today's ESPN Insider. LOL, of course Gammons has reports of Tejada possibly going to Red Sox.

    WHO INTERESTED THE SKINNY

    Miguel Tejada
    Orioles

    Astros?
    White Sox?
    Phillies?
    Cubs
    Mets?
    Angels?

    Red Sox? Tejada to Boston?
Dec 29 - The Orioles are seriously weighing a proposal from the Red Sox of Manny Ramirez and Matt Clement for Miguel Tejada, ESPN's Peter Gammons reports.
Baltimore will weigh other discussions --Philadelphia, the White Sox and Houston are also in on Tejada -- and decide early next week which way to go.
They want a star in return for Tejada. Ramirez is better suited for Camden Yards. Tejada's agents are pushing for Boston so he can be united with good friend David Ortiz.

So far, no one has met the Orioles' asking price for Tejada, The Baltimore Sun reports. The Cubs are offering a package that includes right-handed pitcher Mark Prior. Baltimore would prefer Carlos Zambrano because of Prior's recent history of elbow troubles.

The Cubs reportedly want left-hander Erik Bedard in the deal, but won't include top outfield prospect Felix Pie.

Cubs second baseman Todd Walker, center fielder Corey Patterson and pitcher Rich Hill have also been mentioned in a deal.

Unless the O's are looking to cut salary, the Manny/Clement for Tejada is an absolute no brainer.....to the point that its absurd to even think they would consider anything else.

There was a separate blurb that mentions the Tejada-Manny/Clement thing....now it makes a little more sense as to why they may pass. Apparently Manny/Clement are owed 22 million more guaranteed dollars than Tejada...not to mention that Manny has to approve any trade.....and the O's dont want to deal Tejada to an AL EAST team.

Also...that insider article posted below was from yesterday, the 28th....not today.

In other news, looks like Byrnes is siging with Arizona for 2 million for a year....not a bad bargain IMO when you think thats about what Ausmus makes.

Also- the only other player that we are linked to in the rumor mill (not that its gospel) is Ryan Franklin

I find it interesting that Baltimore wants Zambrano over Prior, and Chicago will trade Prior but not Zambrano.

Tells you a little something about what both teams think of Prior.
