I listened to the Matt & Jeremy show while in Houston last week. I don't know what the appeal is... seemed like a snoozer to me.

Jeremy sometimes joins the other shows to be annoying. The morning crew is Jon and Lance.

Jeremy also does the updates. It was hilarious this morning. Sombody (maybe Jon or Lance) wrote "And the 610 General Manager likes men" into the end of the update and Jeremy read it. :D

I'm talking about the show after John and Lance. They end at 9am, right? There was another show I listened to everyday... a local show. Jeremy was on it and I thought a guy named Matt was too. Actually the other guy was on vacation and Jeremy worked alone last week, but at the top of each show he mentioned that the other guy was on vacation.

I know his name was Jeremy b/c when I heard him speak I thought of the Jeremy character from "Sports Night"

OK, I just went to the website. It was Marc, not Matt. Marc Vandermeer.

    My apologies.

John Vandermeer hosts the 9 am show. Jeremy often talks to him during the show, he's pretty much a co-host some days.

    John and Lance - A

interact with callers, funny, knowledgeable, perspective and humor.

    Marc and Jeremy - B

good host with slightly less sparkle/entertainment factor - often fishing for interaction with dimwit callers now that work has captured better minds

Rome - C- Tired. Old. Yesterday's news. Schtick is worn out, like Emo Phillips.

    espn - D-

horrible. Bad topics, bad hosts, endlessly self-congratulatory.

    Rich and Charlie - D

No humor, no perspective, no caller interaction. Self-absorbed, horrible topics. NO BASKETBALL WHATSOEVER. Football apologists and baseball stat nerdism. Completely out of touch, pressbox geeks.

    Matt - C+

Attempts humor and caller interaction. Effort is somewhat beyond his grasp.

Other late nite prog - D-

ZZZ. Headline wheels and nutjobs. Re-run John and Lance, instead!

speaking of Houston talk radio... what is up with this moron named Callie or Collie or whatever?

I listened to AM radio every morning and heard him call only 3 times, but the guy sounds like a fool. I mentioned him to a friend and he told me that this guy was infamous in AM sports talk show circles in Houston.

    (1) Prime Sports Radio is out of business.

    (2) Kenny Hand now hosts Sportsbeat on 740, 7-10pm when there is no Astros.

    (3) The radio network was indeed "One on One Sports" until they were purchased lock, stock, and barrel by the Sporting News. Every promo used to remind listeners to spell out "OneonOnesports" as the website at "1on1sports" was p*rn :)

    (4) If you want PSR, either get XM satellite radio or tune your web browser to

    http://radio.sportingnews.com

    (5) Collie is wack! I think its just an act, but he manages to make EVERYTHING about the race card. With Yao and David Carr this past year, he has been utterly and completely OTT.
